Man hurls racist and anti-Semitic abuse on tram

Manchester tram racist attack

The unknown man screamed the vile obscenities at people on a Metrolink tram in Manchester city centre on Monday.

After boarding the packed tram at Market Street, he was captured on film by passenger Stephen Stokes ranting at a Jewish man.

He yelled "Why don't you f*** off back where you come from?" before moving on to target other passengers.

After someone attempted to calm the situation, the man called him a "f***ing f****t" before telling another man he "looked like a f***ing paedophile".

Passengers, attempting to calm the situation, even offered him a seat, but were forced to restrain him after he appeared to raise his fists to other commuters.

The man turned on anyone challenging him – and those who ignored him – before he noticed that the whole incident was being filmed.

The footage shows him turning around to face the camera, before attempting to grab the phone from the filmmaker's hands.

He eventually got off at Abraham Moss in Crumpsall and it was reported that he attempted to start another fight as he got off of the tram.
