Jury Clears OB-GYNs Of Hasidic Woman's Death In Childbirth
A jury in New York federal court on Thursday sided with three obstetricians and the U.S. government in a $35 million suit that sought to hold them liable for the death of a pregnant Hasidic patient who hemorrhaged at home while delivering her fourth child.
Drs. Andrew Kramer, Jonathan Lanzkowsky and Debra Kirschner-Lanzkowsky were not responsible for the 2007 death of Rochel Hersko, a jury decided, despite claims by her husband Arnold Hersko that their failure to diagnose her with Noonan syndrome.
