Beware of new Heimishe thief
There is a new Heimishe thief doing his rounds in the Yiddishe neighborhoods. What he does is, he goes into stores that carry valuable merchandise. He buys a couple of thousand dollars worth, usually jewelry. He asks the store owner if he can owe half of it and promises to pay within a couple of days. The man gives the store a copy of his valid Driver's License, a Credit card and a cell phone number where he can be reached. He then disappears and is not heard from again. When the cell phone number is dialed a message comes on stating that he has no money and will be unable to pay anyone back for at least twelve to twenty four months. He however promises to pay back every penny eventually. After doing some investigation on this thief, it was discovered that he lives in Flatbush and is an addicted gambler. He does this shtick every so often in different neighborhoods and then gambles away the money. Hi wife said that he spends less than a couple of weeks at home every year.

I listened to the message and I think it is a very sad situation. Sad for people who he stole from and now put these people in a personal financial situation that they did not ask for or know what was coming
and sad for him that he got in such a bad way that he has to steal money to pay other debts. debts on top of debts on top of debts.
I hope and wish the bashefe zol benchen that whoever was stolen from will be paid back 10 times the money they lost, that the guy who stole should get his debts settled and his life should turn around in a mazeldike way and that NO yid should have money problems that is so bad that he has to steal just to keep his head above water

This show's the unfortunateness of gambling. Nebach a good friend of mine who is a ba'al chesed with the sweetest heart in the world, is now going to jail for crimes related to stealing money for gambling. It's a sickness worse than all others. Stay far far away from gambling.
