Councilman Simcha Felder gives himself a pay raise
The 51-member City Council gave itself a pay raise, increasing yearly compensation for its members to $112,500 from $90,000.
The New York City Council is considered a part-time job, leaving Councilmembers time to have other jobs to earn other money.
Aside from his job as a Councilmember, Simcha Felder is also a Certified Public Accountant, and a Professor of Management at Brooklyn College.
Councilman Felder heads the Governmental Operations Committee which is responsible for introducing such pay raises.
The City Council voted 41 - 5 in favor of the pay raise.

If you worked as many hrs as he does you would expect to make double that. Why can't you people "fargin" someone making a few dollars for a pretty full time job with people bothering him all hrs. of the day and night, and every time he goes to a simcha or anywhere else

His predecessor voted 4 times to raise taxes during his 19 year term as Councilman.
I just don't get the bashing of Simcha obn this blog and on the other one by Shloma Shamos.
Simcha is a hard working guy trying to represent his district. I know of a few people that were helped by him big time and YES he didn't take any kickbacks like his predecessor used to.
Its a shame that a few people with a agenda go on the blogs and bash him away. He is the bigest Kiddush Hashem in politics. Ask around.

simcha felder is an ehrliche yid, and secondly even if he voted against the pay raise he would've gotten the raise anyway.

Simchadoes a lot for us, he eats hamentashen with bloomberg and suspends alternate side parking at least once a year .I couldn,t do that for 110,000$
