Automated phone solicitations

Don't you just love running to the phone, almost tripping and breaking your neck on the way, and then when you finally grab it and pick it up you hear a loud pre-recorded voice with a grainy tone yelling in your ear about the GIANT sale that G & G Clothing has going on now? No?

Not only is this practice annoying, but it is illegal as well. An offending company can be sued up to $2000 per phone call.

If a machine calls your home, call their business phone number and let them know you will no longer patronize them because they annoy you.

Feel free to post the name and phone number of businesses that have done this to you.

We need to put a stop to this annoying and useless practice.

Here's one to start off with

G & G Quality Clothing - (718) 871-7841

Comments:
youre a nebach case

Chaptzem, great job. Totally agree with this.

Why don't they at least limit their calls to Chassidishe people, and not annoy others?

I GOT A PHONE CALL ALSO BUT I DID NOT ANSWER THE PHONE SO THEY LEFT A MESSAGE

Actually this is the first decent thing youre doing in a while. R' Meir Baal Haness.

hey ananymous of mar 22 07 9:12a you sound like a sico

Why is he a nebach case? Halacha states that we must follow the law of the land, and from the last that I heard G & G is in the USA. And if I am on the "do not call list" please respect that. I am not a chasid and am not interested in their stupid pre-recorded phone calls.

g&g clothing and madamo ladies . i get them every day and the worst is when it comes in 5 minutes to shabbos and 5 minutes after. if i hear one more of these calls i will screatch

I just hang up. Its one of those annoyances you have to live with....

The G&G message Ends with a Phone Number that does the Ads & phone calls. I left them a messege that If i'm not taken off the List I will call the FCC.

They have no right calling my house. Let these companies pay for Newspapaer ads & give me the option to see if I want to See the Ad.

Applaude to Mr Chaptzem I fully agree with his point to these annoying phone calls & because its jewish companies no one will report them to the authorities being that they can get a big hefty fine for soliciting someone that is on the DO NOT call list.
How about these telemarketers that call you saying that they are volenteers for an organization in Israel however I know for a fact that they are nicely paid employees of a telemarketing company in flatbush that takes a nice chunk of the money that comes in & what ever is left at the end of the day after the workers get there salary & commision plus the big bosses take there cut, goes to Israel. They are conststanly changing organizations that they are collecting for I even got a call a few days apart from the same person however she was collecting for a different organization & she admitted to me that she does it for many places!!!

I called G&G and told them they have lost me as a customer and G&B has gained a new one!!
I also called Bikur Cholim (Satmar and Of BP)and Bonie Olam and Bobov (both)for their automated calls and told them I filed complaints as I never have done business with them and do not consider them a charity organizations

oorah also has this same chutzpah. They call up with blasting music, playing for about 45 seconds, then they tell u to look out for thier new cd release in the mail.plus they have the chutzpah to rig thier phone system to display the numbers (000)-000-0000 on everyones caller id box . what a bunch of wacos. i really wonder how legit this org. really is.

For your information the "do not call list" does not apply if you have a business relationship with the caller. So if you ever bought anything at G & G (and who hasnt?) they may legally call you. Besides, I love the store.

acording to the do-not-call rules, buissneses are allowed to call their customers unsoliceted. (charities are exempt) So if you ever bought ANYTHING there they have the right to call.

take tylenol!

nice so see that you choose g&g when all of the org. are doing the same! stupid chaptzim go get life LIDOK

Here is good one:

"Hi this is Shloimy Dachs calling to invite you to the Annual Ohel BBQ at my house".

Usally for two weeks every single summer....

hey Anonymous : March 22, 2007 12:42 PM so do you

Hey Anonymous : March 22, 2007 5:58 PM Bikur Cholim & Bonie Olam not charity organizations have you been hit by a baseball bat in the head

Heres a trick, if press #*#*#*#***#####*** a bunch of times it messess up their automated systems and it takes a few minutes to reset itself, (this was on the show 60 minutes, with Andy Rooney)

I have also had a problem with this and I called the company who does the calling (it came up on the caller id) to remove me from the list and they removed me right away. Since then I do not have any more calls!

What about an established business relationship?

A telemarketer or seller may call a consumer with whom it has an established business relationship for up to 18 months after the consumer's last purchase, delivery, or payment - even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. In addition, a company may call a consumer for up to three months after the consumer makes an inquiry or submits an application to the company. And if a consumer has given a company written permission, the company may call even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry.

One caveat: if a consumer asks a company not to call, the company may not call, even if there is an established business relationship. Indeed, a company may not call a consumer - regardless of whether the consumer's number is on the registry - if the consumer has asked to be put on the company's own do not call list.

Perhaps Chaptzem can obtain - somehow - the home phone # of the owner(s) and post them here? So that we can, for example, express our displeasure directly?

"Oh, Mr. G, you don't want me to call you at home? No problem, just add your name to the FCC's do not call list. Oh, wait, that doesn't work?"

Great idea!

Lets get their home numbers and plaster it all over the iNternet!!

Chaptzem, Vos Iz Neias, and all other great blogs should run the story!!

They will DIE!

What about the tzedaka'' org that call to thank you for your previous donation, when u know u never gave them anything or heard of them...and then ask u to 'donate again' this year???I got TONS of those, a bunch of ganovim if u ask me...they know I never gave them anything...

The tzedaka org are a buncg of crooks it is the same org as previously posted by another blogger. They are a telemarking company in Flatbush that get paid well even though they claim they are volunteers I know for a fact they get paid salary plus commision & they constantly change organizations that they call you about. They buy lists & the list says that you gave some organization say $18 they will assume that you give out $18 so they figure you wont remember which organization yes & which no so they say that you gave them $18 last year & do you want to do the same again. Its all one big scam also notice that all the organizations they collect for is in Israel and most of them you never heard of. BE CAREFUL!!

ADD INVITATION DEPOT TO THE LIST
