Ebay auction: Orthodox Jewish Woman & Daughters Boro Park Photograph
The picture below is being sold on an Ebay auction. The following is part of the item description.
Original fine art photograph, in black and white, of an Orthodox Jewish woman and her daughters on 13th Avenue in Boro Park, Brooklyn, New York. Note that the daughters are all wearing the same skirts and the same shoes. Also note that the daughters are pushing strollers with three more children (2 on the left and 1 on the right). This mother, who was still in her 20s, certainly showed the effects of bearing six children.
Why would someone buy this, or sell it for that matter.

It looks like many of the photographs for sale by the same seller have something to do with the "old country" and Jewish life in NY. For some people the idea of a young mother popping out cookie-cutter kids is foreign and interesting.

I don't know what the big deal is. Photo hobbyist collect all sorts of pictures. Stamp collectors collect all kinds of stamps , etc. You're making a big tzimmis out of nothing. I guess you don't understand photography.
I don't believe that the mother is really 20. How does the photographer know this, especially looking from the back!
i just got a look at the front of that photo and it looks like a man . he must be wearing his long bekeshe along with his tupee` or maybe hes a cross dresser
No photos were sold (not even at low price of 2.99)- POOR photographer.

What a shanda! Who dares call that woman a "boro park" woman. Us boro park woman only use montain buggy carriages (or bidi'eved a valco) and that is a mere baby jogger. And the single carriage not the top of the line, but rather a cheap hundered dollar model, what a shame. Where is her pride???
