Comments:
I can understand $350K for the Heilige glasses, but $125 for UPS ground shipping?! Do they come with their own fireproof safe?
Next week's ebay special: A piece of dried herring, Shirayim from the Baal Shem Tov himself!

Note:
No one is bidding on it.
Any comments about people willing to bid on this is a waste.
I only wonder how someone, who is willing to put them on ebay, got hold of them.
Something smells. (And it's not the Besht's herring!).

Spending $350,000 on a pair of glasses, not even your prescription, .... that's a bit of money....
I Hope this money will go to tzedaka... if anyone bids on it.

What a joke!!! I used to come to him with shalom bayis problems and he NEVER did anything about it!!!

Better give that money straight to Tzedakah- There are tons of Organizations which could use that sum of money.

Check out the guys feedback, you might pay $350K and not get the glasses, or they might be scratched like the Lexus headlight he sold.
The Rebbe would NOT LIKE that his glasses are being sold on Ebay.
Why aren't the glasses in the possession of his children where they truly belong?

You are not the only one that used to go to the Rebbe about abuse, shalom bayis in the house. The Rebbe too did nothing for me and because of that I would not want anything from him!!!
If he couldn't help me back then, what good could the segula or shemira be?
I'd rather give all that money away to tzedaka than buy those glasses.

It's IMPOSSIBLE that the glaases were worn for 2 decades because the prescription was written in 1994.
It would be in the year 2014 that the Rebbe would be wearing the glasses for two decades.
So which is the correct information?

These were probably stolen by a housekeeper, bec. we all know the Rebbitzen wasn't well for a long time while R' Shloima was alive, so there was no one to watch for Ganovim. What else could it be?

He should have done more than listen when I repeattedly told him that my exhusband had abused me in more ways than
one(There were bruises all over my face, swollen lips). He's always say that my Yossie would Never do anything like that. He made me feel like I was lying. He should have given him Mussar, etc. But he didn't.
I am Baruch Hashem out of that relationship and am happily married to a Satmar Chosid. We live in Williamsburg for 6 years with TRUE Shalom Bayis.
Because He NEVER DID anything to help me I wouldn't want to possess anything that belonged to him.

If these heilige glasses is suppose to bring segulah and shemira, why are the glasses being sold on ebay for such an outrageous ridiculous price?
Who ever heard of anyone spending such an amount of money on glasses?

I have very bad vibes against the rebbe and entire bobover dynasty so I would DEFINTITELY NOY BUY anything from Bobov!!!
All this is doing is making people resort to going on the internet when our RABONIM told us NOT to.
Ebay is not one of the kosher stes either.

Two comments:
1) It is possible he wore them for 2 decades. The two decades BEFORE he got that new prescription. We all were thinking this prescription was for these glasses. Maybe these were his OLD glasses, that were replaced with this NEW Prescription.
2) Sometimes a Rebbe can do more than just listen to Sholom Bayis problems. Sometimes he needs to call in the husband, and have a talk with him.
There are plenty of cases in Willi where a Rebbe called in a married man and discussed sholom bayis, and told him his behavior must change.
There are, unfortunately, some problems also, with some rebbes, who "sweet it under the carpet" and actually tell the woman it is her fault for causing the man to abuse her.
Now, sometimes it is the woman who is truly driving the man to the breaking point, but it is still the man's job to not cross the line, and to keep his cool.
There are way way too many cases of spousal abuse in heimishe families, and I am not talking about only men abusing women.
There are some men who are black and blue from abusive women, who hit them hard, knowing they will not hit back. I know of a few like that who make sure to only go to the mikva when it is not crowded, because they are embarrassed.
Obviously, spousal abuse on the part of the man is the one that gets the most attention, as the men are physically stronger. But, verbal and emotional abuse goes both ways.
We need to recognize this problem in our communities, and offer actual programs to help these couples, instead of sweeping it all under the rug.
I knew of a woman in Bobov, whose shver was "connected" high up in Bobov. She went to the Rebbe a few times with complaints of physical, and emotional abuse of the worst kind. She felt that the Rebbe was ignoring her, and actually blaming her.
Even if she was not perfect, even if she acted like a Royal B**ch .. no one deserves to be hit. EVER. PERIOD.
Besides hitting, this man she was married to used to get even with her by telling the children they never need to listen to her!!!!
She went to the Bobover Rebbe and was ignored. The husband was NEVER called in to the Rebbe.
I am NOT saying this against Bobov. I am saying that this problem is, unfortunately too widespread in our Heimishe communities, and needs to stop, before more end in tragedy as some have.
So, let's not take this to put down any one leader, let's take this to learn to help by encouraging actual counseling programs in all Kehillas: Yeshivish, Chassidish, and any other brand of Yiddishkeit.
How dare we allow other, non-Jewish groups to be far ahead of us in offering counseling to individuals and couples, while we keep living is fantasy land, saying, "Well, we don't have THOSE types of problems. Yidden don't behave like that."
How can we help? How about beginning by thinking MORE HIGHLY of a man who is man enough to go for counseling instead of looking down at him. That is a starting point.

I know of a man of a differnt faith, we worked together. His church would not allow a couple to marry, until BOTH man and woman went for counseling. The man had to go to a male counselor and the woman to a female. They each had to go for 10 sessions. Not to learn about making a kosher home, or taharas hamishpacha, but about dealing with anger, and how to treat each other., etc.
They were both also "Strongly Encouraged" to continue this counseling during those first 5 years or marriage, to make sure they do not begin down the wrong path into bad behavioral habits during high stress times in their married lives.
His church actually employs 8 full-time counselors, 4 men and 4 women. These are fully trained and work under a psychologist, who leads the program. They offer total and complete privacy, with no one ever knowing anything spoken about in session, or even who is in therapy.
But, people there are proud of going for therapy. They understand that man is weak, and can use guidance and help to learn how to behave.
Yes, this is a larger church, and can afford it. Though the funds to support this program come from the individual church, not from any higher up organization.
But, is there no room in our Heilige KeHillas for something like this?
I believe we can learn from all people. There is good to learn from the goyim. It is not a Goyishe thing to get counseling.
It is what the Rebbes of old did!
Back then, with the pressures of those days, and the smaller sizes of the kehillas that was enough.
Today, with our giant kihillas, there is no way the Rebbes can do all this, as he would not have enough time in the day.
And the stressors in life today, living in this golus, with todays temptations, and bad examples, ... we NEED to encourage therapy/counseling, and even make it a priority.
If we can have big committees to help feed the poor in our communities, why not also have programs to feed the emotional needs of our Heimishe men and women?
Where can one begin? When you hear that a boy's older brother went for therapy or counseling, think of this boy in BETTER light when evaluating him for a shidduch, instead of it being points against him.
That children were taught to get help, therapy or counseling, means they were parented well, and not taught to blame others for their problems.
I would rather my daughter marry a boy who will go for counseling, and had an older brother who set such a good example for him that it is good to do this.
Oooops, sorry... I went on and on way too long, but the women who complained about their not being listen too when they went to their Rebbe, made me cry. I broke my heart.

I live in Boro Park right across the Bobover Yeshiva. It's so heartbreaking to see how men scream so loudly on the streets towards their children. My heart goes out to these poor children.
why are the glasses still on ebay? Today is 11/17/07 and the expiration bid for the glasses is 11/15/07. I just checked ebay just to see if it was removed but no someone can still purchase them.
