Erev Shabbos music for your ears
Boro-Parkers were treated with a special Erev Shabbos treat this week. At three different times before and after the Z'man music was played on loudspeakers heard all across Boro-Park, to usher in the Shabbos. At about fifteen minutes before the Z'man the melodious 'Zugts Nur Yiddelech Git Shabbos' began to play for about a minute, then five minutes before the z'man another Shabbos song came on, and then finally, at the Z'man once again, the 'Zugts Nur Yiddelech' song blared across the neighborhood.

Comments:
I thought I heard something that sounded like jewish music blasting from BP direction while walking to shul, (I live in Kensington.) and it didn't sound like the usual Muslim sermon always going.
Another sign from the "frime Yiden" that we are not in galus anymore. Ich Bin Du!!!! Screw all the neihgbors, that this music might be bothering...When it comes to us frimme yiden, nothing matters as long as its for us, but g-d help them if they want to bring in a Walmart with all the shkutzim into our Neighborhood!!!
Another Chillul Hashem as far as im concerned

Who came up with that brilliant idea ?
Maybe next they will start blasting modeh ani songs at 6:30AM every weekday morning ?
They should get a ticket for disturbing the peace.

where I live (Yerushalayim) evry day of Slichos about 5am a car drives around on loudspeaker with the famous song "shteits oif far slichos..."
you are asking if there is a law...? I dont know but my wife and children had to wake up because the men go to slichos. and by the way here in Yerushalayim we have evry week a few songs before the zman. (though in some city's I know there where alot against it...)

I bet the same people complaining about the noise are those that are ok with the muslim call to prayer, and the church bells.
Cut the crap! Tickets, Modea Ani, disturbing the peace.....
It's a beautiful thing. Coming into Shabbos with a nice Viznitzer Nigun Shreit Aleh Yiden Gut Shabbos!
Why are the curch bells OK every Sunday, or the Muzlim call to prayer blasting. Stop being Self Hating Jews. Get the chip off your shoulder. 4, 5 or six o'clock inthe afternoon isn't bothering anyone.
To the ones blastining the music. CHAZAK V'EMOTZ!!

I b elive that if enough people make a stink at city hall and bang down some yiddeshe politicions doors it may just stop.
now to all of you self hating jews:
the law in regarding to loud noi on public streets is after a rtain time in the evening not the time when they sounded it, number 2 it was only on a 15 minute period number 3 it wasnt 6.30 am like some of you made f its at 4pm when its not weird to do it it is very nice and again it wasnt blasting it was half as loud as the shaboss bell/siren so all of you start thinking straight and come to reality we they are not crazy it wasnt like the muslim music you can hear annoying coming out of their places so stop it

We are in gulus and they are not!
It’s that simple!

It's ridiculous. Kopporas , chometz burning, a whole public balagan... Forget about our non-Jewish neighbors for a second . What about those of us who want some peace and quiet and believe in.. VEHATZNEI LECHES IM HASHEM...
RE...Cut the crap! Tickets, Modea Ani, disturbing the peace.....

I don't want Vizhnitzer niggun, I want Carlebach, if anything..
Put on your stereo at HOME and play for your family not in public.

Im a hard working father and I want to be all rested up at the seuda for the chinuch of my kinderlich and not snore at the soup, so I try to get a good nap right before the zman... got it?!?!? now what do you say?
True, we are in Golus..but I wish we had this in Monsey. In today's day, where everyone is forced to 'respect' all religions, it's nice that the one true religion gets to be heard once in a while..and those who dont like it, lighten up, and be proud of your heritage! why do only the goyim get to be heard?? Enjoy! I think it's a Kiddush Hashem!
Dear were in golus and they're not -
The only thing that is that simple is that you're totally f*cked in the head. I usually never use that word
with a star or without it, but in there are some cases where it is simply necessary.
Most people usually just shrug off blog comments, but for your own good wake up and realize that there is something seriously wrong with you. I never dreamt that there were yidden which koched so much in golus, that they themselves tried to contribute to making it worse. With that sort of thinking, you would have been a Kapo rachmono litzlan.

I DON'T CARE IF ITS A VIZNIZER NIGUN OR A CARLEBACH ONE - IF ITS APPROPRIATE FOR THE BRINGING IN OF SHABBOS - LETS HEAR IT.
ITS A BEAUTIFUL THING, AND MUCH THANKS TO THE ASKANIM.
THATS THE ADVANTAGE TO LIVING IN A HEIMISHE YIDDISHE COMMUNITY.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT - IT IRKS YOU TO HEAR HEIMISHE NIGGUNIM - MOVE!
WHERE YOU BELONG, THEY WILL PROBABLY PLAY LIPA'S GOYISHE RAP (UGH), AND THEN YOU'LL BE HAPPY.

Dear I usually never use that word:
Firstly why don’t you calm down a little, all I pointed out was the difference between us and them, however one can apply the difference however one sees fit.
Now according to my opinion, if one learned חומש with רש"י in
(בראשית (42-1 were יעקב אבינו tells his children given that thay were going to Egypt, and it was not exactly friendly territory, he tells them:
למה תתראו
and רש"י explains the meaning to be:
למה תראו עצמכם בפני בני ישמעאל ובני עשו ,
or רש"י'ס own פשט
למה יהיו הכל מסתכלין בכם
this is understood to be our lesson that a Jew should never be a “in your face guy”, to the contrary, a Jew has to watch never to be in the eyes of a non-Jew, and moreover never be in his mouth.

Please study the Chumash a little more carefully. The parsha is talking about when Ya'kov is in eretz hakodesh - Bfeirush not golus, and he is simply saying not to publicize that they have food when everyone else around them dosn't. Like most people will tell you, it probably isn't the best idea to go riding in a bentley through harlem.
If you want to know what the torah DOES say - Hevay az kanemer laasos rtzon avicha shebashamayim. When it comes to doing a mitzvah, one shouldn't be embarrased to learn a piece of gemarah in middle of grand central station, or anything else of that nature.

curious from a technically legal perspective - why ARE ANY of these sounds permitted - church songs, bells, shkia siren? I'd think they ALL violate the peace. NO ONE should be able to pump that volume into other's domain like that.
