The making of a Kol Koreh

It has been said that there are two things that should not be watched how they are made; sausages and laws. The same rule goes for Kol Korehs. This is exactly how they are done from beginning to end.

First, some Yingerman, who never earned a dime in his life nor ever opened a sefer, has an idea come to him on his way to Kollel from Minkatch after Shachris at 2pm. He mulls this idea over in his head and looks for an angle how to make the biggest stink with his idea. The more people he can inconvenience the more attention and success his proposal can have. He then goes to his local group of fellow leidigeiers and pitches the idea. Gevaldig! They all scream in unison. They now have what to do for weeks.

So, they now go home to their brand new internet equipped computers start up the 'ol MS Word and start typing up a nissuch. The more times the word z'nus is used, the better it will look.

Now comes the fun part. The Rabbanim hopping. The technique can be a bit tricky but this is how it goes. You go to the first Rav and lie through your teeth about how horrible the transgression is. You make sure to fabricate as many issur d'oireisas that people may be oiver there. Then when the Rav thinks about signing it or not. You lie to him in your most persuasive voice and tell him how many other Rabbanim have signed it already. Then this Rav has no choice. How would it look that he was the only one not signing? Who would he be then? So, sight unseen he signs the Kol Koreh.

The leidigeiers follow this pattern another twenty to thirty times and poof, you have a Kol Koreh.

Now please don't vomit.

Comments:
No problem as long it is not the other way around, that the ruv doesn't sign a kol koire that people should go to such events. Then it would be a wrong thing that a rabbi should guide erliche yiden to "holeles" men, women and children should laugh loud together in public from wild entertaiment.

You've gotten the kernel of truth here. If you would just not exaggerate, you would be on the mark.
On a private and personal basis I spoke to a number of rabbonim when a much earlier "kol koreh" went out was told why they signed it even though they really didn't agree with it. The method you describe is very close to what happened then and my guess is what happened now. The rabbonim are then painted into a corner where they can't back out without looking stupid and risk losing the respect of everyone.
The risk is that enough people will find out what is going on and they lose everyone's respect anyway (which is what appears to be happening now and is one reason as to why rabbonim hate the bloggers).
Now everyone loses.

Chaptzem, very well said!!!

This is what happened here with Lipa Schmeltzer. Asher Friedman from Nechomas Yisroel came up with an idea and lied to the rabonim and got a Kol Korey out of them. The he edited the whole Kol Korey with out the knowledge of the rabonim.

Who is Asher Friedman and what did he gain from it all?

Asher Friedman lives on 41 Street and 13 Avenue. He runs and makes a living from Nechomas Yisroel. His father has a Shul on 12 Avenue & 47Street.

He looks everyday how he could asser something (like Chaptzem wrote). He was one of the biggest hetzers against Dicchi, Deli 52, Simchas Bais Hashoave on 13 Avenue, Kosher Cellphones, and now Lipa Schmeltzer.

Lets send him a clear message:
NO TO TERROR!!!

a charpe and a busha to speak about our rabonnnim like that. you should all be ashamed of yourself. these are the same rabonnim you ask your issur krissus shaylos. if they can't be depended on to figure out what an oisvurf this LS is, then how can you depend on them to know hetter or issur, which requires much more intelligence. come on. we are talking about r' matissyahu solomon here, novominsker rebbe, r' fishel hershkowitz - all of them true gedolei yisroel. so you say they are a gullible bunch. i think whoever reads this is mechuyyav to tear kriah. oi gevald. vehu rachum yechaper avon.

great(FREE)education WOW, who ever this Friedman guy is, I would like to be next to him in Olam Habah, what a great job! My way of thinking is not as distorted as many of the above writers, OH by the way thanks for teaching us how to write a Kol Korah, great(FREE)education, I am looking forward to be involved.... HAY whats next? no drinking COKE on Purim? Now it's time to call a spade a spade, don't cry over spilled and spoiled milk! Time to forget and forgive. Moshiach is on his wah hold on a little bit longer and you will see that only the out spoken Shleuchim from above will be standing next to Moshiach any way ...great(FREE)education

NO TO TERROR!!! and YES to EMES

To: anonymous from 10:29 and 10:48 youe story is false with no grounds this is nothing else then loshon hora. You should learn chofetz chaiem "shmiras halushon befre you post names and write here.

I was wondering if any one would comment as to what lesson we can take out from this canceled event

My opinion is that Lipa made a great Kidush Hashem by giving in to the Rabonim.

That is a well known form of sadism, to run around and make everyone's life miserable with the excuse of "saving them". The whole history of Europe is built on that, and we Yidden should know better.

why don't we overwhelm him with daily escort services, that should keep him occupied.

What did he gain from it? He gained what is missing from his opinion of himself. His feeling of worthlessness was changed into a feeling of the power to destroy a person's life and parnussa.

Let us not besmirch the kannoim that did this solely l'shem shamayim. I happen to know for a fact that the heilige kannoim involved were careful to make sure that they were not mevatel torah or took time off from the sedarim and shiurim to deal with this and only involved themselves in this issue during the other 23 hours of the day.

Nu? So he doesn't like jezzy? (See gezerah from the Kiryas Yoel Beis Din, Chanukah 2005).

Every day I feel the fact that we are a dor yasom sheb'yasomim more intensely. The problem is that nobody cares what the rabbonim say and the musag of having an actual rebbi who imparts ikkirei ha-daas v'emunah has almost vanished in today's yeshivos and 13 y/o pishers walk around thinking they're the Brisker Rav.

Lakewood has morphed into some sort of grotesque corporate yeshiva where the roshei yeshiva are clearly not in full control and many once proud branches of chassidus are emboriled in machloksim over gelt in secular courts vchulu ...... There is very little credibility left. Chabad has the moshichists, court battles and the corporate aura as well, so what is attractive to a young frum kid these days?

Rav Ahron Kotler would've folded up and taken the talmidim far away 10 years ago. The Satmar Rav would have thrown these clowns outta town 30 years ago. R' Shloimele Bobover, the ohev sholom v'rodef sholom of his day is rolling over in his grave.

Sex, drugs, and rampant kefira are all over the place along with ignored molestation problems and all of a sudden we're worried about "the big event" @ MSG!

Chareidi Judaism used to be a sacred cow to me but the culture out there is so repugnant at times it's almost too hard to bear. For instance OORAH a fine mossad is offering a catalog without women for those inclined to receive such. Well, is it poroper to have women or not? BMG puts out a catalog for a chinese auction that is considered too m'gushem and then cancels the event at a financial loss. Who authorized it in the first place? Were the roshei yeshiva consulted? Did they approve it? If so, fine. If not, we've got a problem. The rabbonim understandably assured the Internet but on a supposedly yeshivishe site they instructed when to "break" the recent Lipa story.

The "yeridos hadoros" that's taken place even in the course of my 39 year life is so immense that I fear for the future. IY"H Moshiach zol kummen b'meheira b'yomeinu! OY MEH HAYA LANU!

You really shouldn't worry about the future, just use the current events to learn about who you should be and who you shouldnt be.

Be a true Jew, go back to your roots, before the invent of "yashivesh" "chasidesh" "frum" and any other ism's and labels put on us by the enemies of truth and peace.

Stop judging other Jews for their personal choices and maybe we will not be oppressed in return, whether by other jews or our leaders.

A few years back I did judge, I judged the MO, the chassidim, the sephardim.... Everyone was crap except for me and those who followed my flavor of Judaism. Now I realize I was wrong, I insulted many people, I turned many people away from God and I hated fellow Jews.

Thanks askonim and Roshei yeshivas for opening my eyes to the true evils in our times.

1. Sinat Chinam
2. Racism
2. Perversion of Justice
3. Favoritism
4. The Yeshiva/Kollel System

We, my brothers, are the neo-nazis.

We are killing ourselves, finishing off what the nazis started.

SDR
WELL SAID

I have some inside info. that someone hired a private investigator to follow this THUG by the name of Asher or Usher Friedman from Nechomas Yisroel. It w`ont be too long for some nice big shmoots hits the fan. That should teach him a lesson hopefully.

what would happen if the great sages among us, would declare that you MUST attend an event.
And if you don't no one should do business with you, or red a shiduch with your children

I am appealing to the public for help!!!!

Will some one out there PLEASE help me put together a KOL KOREH signed by the "rabonim" on the sky rocketing prices of "Shmura Matzos"
"SHMURA MATZOS" $$$$$$ price????

(also for the price of Pampers and formula)

Please help Klall Yisroel afford "Shmura Matzos" for the upcoming Yom Tov of Pesach.

I'm sick & tired of people giving rabonim a pass because they were misled by overzealous askanim (read fanatics). As an alleged community leader any rav has the responsibility of thoroughly investigating a charge before taking action. If a rav has to rely on middlemen (who usually have agendas) to get his information and perspective on the current goings on in the Jewish world, and he doesnt have the time, abililty or interest to see things for himself, then he, on his own, should have the judgment and honesty to admit to himself that he is way too out of touch to get involved in taking such decisive and rigid measures.
this is not what i call leadership.
peoples' parnassa is on the line.
how can they call for a boycott on these entertainers?
they are honest hardworking frum Jews who have families to feed!
Irresponsible at best, cruel and mean-spirited is more appropriate.
and what is so terrible about Lipa Schmeltzer?
Gevalt un geshrigen a jewish entertainer that's sctually entertaining! hashem yeracheim!!!
i'm sorry to say, that I'm quickly losing faith in the ability of this out of touch, old boy's club, cranky group of sheltered old men to guide us.
when i want to pick an enjoyable and kosher way to spend an evening, i'll use my own judgement. when i need a cloth checked, then I'll look for a rav.

It's amazing who signed this Kol Koreh. We are not talking about the local Chassidishe Rebbe in Borough Park whose main function is to provide chulent for his mispallelim on Shabbos. We are talking about big time Rabbonim here. Rav Shmuel Kaminetsky, Rav Dovid Feinstein, Rav Aron Shechter, the Noviminsker, etc. Rav Aron has come a long way since he threw me out of Chaim Berlin in 1963. Now he assurs concerts, pictures of women in shaitels in store windows, etc. I know that his father, a proste yid by the name of Yosel Schecter, z'l, is turning over in his grave.

to the person thrown out of chaim berlin in 1963: Go Away. You scare me.

Yosel Schecter was a friend of my father. He was not a pruster yid.If not for him there would never have been a rabbi shlomo friefeld.
