Police just apprehended a dark-skinned male while attempting to break into Federal Astoria Bank on 13th Avenue and 53rd Street in Boro-Park. Police arrived at the scene without lights and sirens, as to avoid alerting the robber to their presence. Police were apparently alerted by the bank's silent alarm, tripped during the attempted break-in. They blocked off the street and entered the second floor of the building, where the thief was making his break-in. The man was marched out in handcuffs to the street to an awaiting police cruiser.
