the ou has no clue about what they say is kosher or not. half the rabbis there dont even make visits to the plants in their charge.

 

Its because most of the misprints are companies out in the bundox trying to make believe that they are kosher. Those companies know only about the national ones, ie: OU, OK, Star-K, and therefore its those companies that they countefreit.

Also, when the OU has an incident that affects a product, it is often difficult to recall it, as it is widely distributed. The heimishe products are easily recalled, and there have been a few instances in the past were they were.

If you want to lament the kashrus situation today, why don't you do it with real hard facts, and not just to try stir the pot with immature posts as these.

With this post, you are exposing how little you are familiar with the business of kashrus.

 

The answer is the latter of course.The CRC is run by a crook who has swindled his own ilk out of thousands of dollars through phony Dinei Torah.There is a donut comp. in BP under CRC which operates all night without a mashgiach.No challah was being taken. When the Flatbush-based KIC met with the CRC they accused the KIC of being liars.Enough said.

 

i admit that i never really thought about this quandry until i read your posting tonight. my vote goes to the carpet sweepers. nothing is foolproof and not everyone is big enough to admit it and pick up the pieces and fix it.

Hey listen up Mr. Chaptzem, why don't you go and with your skillfull investigatory character dig up some hardcore information about the Kashrus industry. Maybe then people won't have to be subject to your speculative thoughts (and perhaps dreams). If you want to make it out there, with your blog, you must provide some real facts to deal with.

 

The hardcore information comes from Monsey. The mashgiach didn't do his job and the rabbonim told the people to fast in repentence. How did the lazy mashgiach repent and what is he supervising now?

I hear why Monsey had to fast. L'maaseh they were subjected to neveilas v'treifos for years. It happened to them and B"H not me. I do not hear anything about the mashgichim that failed to do their duty, and thereby facilitated this disaster. Was there ever any other skandal of this scope? Not that I ever heard of.

 

Talking about the mashgiach is a crime, especially when it has been shown that the perpetrator in monsey was tricking everybody by producing fake plumbas,etc. The masgiach is good enough when the owner is decent, but if the owner is a trickster, even 1,000 mashgichim cant help

Many years ago I went to Mrs. Adlers Gefilte fish when it was on Essex Street in Brooklyn. Ak that time, it was owned run by Beryl Bonner, Mrs. Adlers's son-in-law.

The MAshgiach called me over and told me the following story -

A brand called Hadar, under Breuers supervision, produced regularly in the plant. They produced on Monday and Tuesday for their Pesach run. The plant then Kashered for Pesach on Wednesday.

Breuers found out that their gefilte fish was chometz. They sent letters to members of the Kehilla that the fish was NOT UNDER THEIR SUPERVISION, but did NOT put any letters or ads in the Newspapers.

Their logic was a) they are responsible ONLY to their Kehilla
and b) It would cost too much for a recall (Hefsed Merubah?)

 

Since when does doughnuts require that challah be taken??

 

Many years ago when my husband had open heart surgery I was in the hospital waiting room and met up with a couple that had a chocolate manufacturing company in lower manhattan. They were selling chocolates to many heimishe companies. They told me that they had ou and crc hechsher. Every time the ou mashgichem came down to their plant they had a real hard time getting the certification they checked everything very carefully but when hisachdus came down all they did was come in and out and it was real easy. I was totally shocked. Now I know better and I am not surprized.

 

I LIVE IN WILLY AND WE NEVER BRING INTO OUR HOME OU PRODUCTS BUT THIS LAST YEAR MANY OF OUR RELATIVES AND US AS WELL DO NOT USE CRC PRODUCTS AS WELL. WE TRY TO EAT PRODUCTS THAT HAVE A HECHSHER FROM PEOPLE WE PERSONALLY TRUST. MANY PEOPLE IN WILLY BORO PARK MONROE ETC STOPPED TRUSTING CRC. YEARS AGO WHEN THE OLD SATMAR RABBI WAS AROUND CRC WAS NOT ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH ALL THE FRAUD. ALOT OF THE RABBIS AT CRC DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT A CORRUPT ORGANIZATION IT BECAME. IT IS A KNOWN FACT THAT CRC IS RUN BY A GROUP OF MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE.

 

anon 2:36, Are you for real? Why should't challa have to be taken? Did the halacha change recently, I must have missed that memo. Next you'll be saying that we don't have to wash for bread etc.

 

A friend of mine worked at a very popular catering hall in Williamsburg which had the CRC hechsher. He saw alot of OU products being used CRC does not permit But he admitted that CRC hardly came around and when they did it was hidden and was not even noticed by the CRC mashgichem. All they did was come in for their fat checks.
