What will be with Dov?
Israel's favorite Assemblyman, Dov Hikind, is now the center of a charity scandal. What should be done to deal with this? Removal from office? Censured? Jailed? Sent to Israel?
What's your opinion?

Comments:
It's very hard to be an honest politician. Even if you start out with the best intentions, it's easy to become crooked sooner or later if you're a politician. Maybe Mr. Hikind should resign.
I believe it was an innocent mistake. I can hardly imagine that Dov would be stupid enough to knowingly collect charity as tax deductible when it actually isn't. He obviosly wasn'twasn't aware of this law. Or, there is a possibility that the charity was legitimate, as it's only illegal if it's political, and Dov can argue that being that the money isn't going towards any political campaign (which it wasn't), It can't be considered political.
In any event I wouldn't call it a scandal, as Dov made his intentions of what he plans to do with the charity very public information. Surely, the donors (if there were any) were not decieved. The question is if it was legitimately tax deductible and that is a tax issue between Yad Moshe & IRS, and therefore to call it a scandal would be misleading.

CHAPTZEM YOUR SO PATHETIC. WHY SHOULD DOV BE PUT IN JAIL FOR THIS?
YOUR JUST LOOKING FOR SENSATIONAL HEADLINES. MR . HIKIND DOES AN AWFUL LOT OF GOOD FOR US. AND I FOR ONE, WILL NOT JUDGE HIM UNTIL I GET THE FULL STORY.

This is hysterical! Gershon Tannenbaum has the chutzpa to persecute Neturei Karta when he, like Hertz Frankel, has already been convicted of misdeeds in a court of law! And now good old Dov Hikind is playing fast and easy with non-profits! What goes around comes around....!
This just shows he has to be removed. Him and Tennenbaum another winner who can read Hebrew is the head of the Igud what a joke. He is an Am haretz Gumor and should be laughed at.
Dov remember there is alot of stuff out there on you its time. Your not squeeky clean

dov hikind is an amazing person who does wonders for brooklyn and world jewish community. dov is a special person, why would u even post this and potentially cause him and embarassment and spreadlashon hara
Both Chaptzem and the Jewish Week go too far.
Chaptzem, what is reported is neither a scandal nor a crime. At worst, the tax deductible status of Yad Moshe could be revoked by the IRS because they engaged in political activity, by promoting the removal of the Israeli P.M. That's it - no more, no less.
The Jewish Week goes too far in its headline: "...Via Tax Cheat". No money is alleged to be stolen, so the revival of the rabbi's criminal conviction, particularly in a headline, is irrelevant.
I subscribe to the Jewish Week, and I think on balance it is a good paper. I usually disagree with those who accuse it of orthodox-bashing. But here, the length of the article, the consulting with tax experts, the particulars of the rabbi's financial issues, and the headline of course - its all too much. There's a lot of reach here. Dov Hikind is not the first politician or human being to step over the boundary of a nonprofit being political. The article just seems way too long, and detailed. This might be an example of orthodox bashing.

Dov Hikind is a vain and conceited person it is time for him to go. I need a job and why should Dov be elected for life.
He should be forced to wear an Indian Shaitel, eat Finkels meat and fly on El Al to Iran to debate the Niturei Karta goons.
Dov is the man! I think we should look up to him. He speaks a heimishe yeeddish, loves a good herring, slups galla like the best of them. Hey what more do you need to be a good govenor, or whatever the hell his title is. Dya think he could help me with some overdue tickets? If yes, let's keep him on. Bottom line - he IS htem man! Long live Dov!
evry shnorr letter that you get is doing the same thing. It is NOT LEGAL to collect for a specific family via a charity
Ladies & Gentleman , Mr Dov Hikind
has done a lot of good and his intersts are purely for the safety and strength for the state of Israel
shouldn't we be appreciative to a man who has the guts to stand up
and support what is right
if more of us would be as supportive as Dov Hikind is
for the state of Israel
we would be far better off
let's thank the assemblyman
rather then trying to lynch him
at every opportunity

Hikind's a tzaddik... leave the guy alone... we all know what the media can do to twist the life of any jew!!! I have winessed what Hikind does for the Jewish public on a personal level (he did whatever he could to help a family member get out of a stuck messed up situation) Now that I think of it he even gave hours of sleep to help with another relative!! And he doesn't know who in the world we are! You can twist what anybody does anytime. I have seen too much of "politics" not just in a political sense but machlokes is all the same!! Stop the gossip when we all dont know the whole picture anyway.. just the propaganda posted. Get a life and let Hikind be!! We need tzadikim like him in the government!
YOU GUYS ARE ALL NUTS!
R' DOV IS COMPLETELY INNOCENT.
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THE PAPERS
NEED READERS.
SIMPLE
AS

Gershon di ganav Tannenbaum is a ganav for years, even in the 1970's, in his twenties, he was a swindler and in the NY Times for that, and continued in that derech for years, google will give details.
Such a ganav should be thrown out, how can such a crook be the head of Iggud, how can any Shul have him as Rav, that guy is a walking chuillul Hashem.
Hikind does good, but why does he associate with Gershon di ganav, he puts himself in danger by associating with someone like that.
