Bleacher Bobovers get Court permission to sue Yeshivah, Congregation and the City

In a recent Court decision, a group of Bobover Chasidim that were injured from falling off bleachers at a Bobover Chasunah, can sue Bobover Yeshivah, Bobover Congregation and the City of New York. The allegations by the plaintiffs against the City are that the City, when they provided bleachers for the Chasunah, failed to furnish bleachers that were in well enough condition to handle the enormous crowds that were present. In their case against the Yeshivah and the Shul, they allege that Bobov failed to provide adequate personnel to make sure that the crowds and bleachers were managed in a safe and appropriate manner.

Comments:
What was the name of that Beis Din that they went to? Silly me.

A din torah not good enough for them?

I tried going to go to that link, & they're requesting a log in. can you please provide a pdf or a picture of that court decision?
thanks

which bobov 45th or 48th?

this story happened 10 yrs ago when bobov (only 1 then) got bleachers from the ny parks department for the chupa that was in fron of the -then- ailing bobover rebbe zatzal's house. in middle of the chupa the upper part of the bleachers broke off and the crowd tumbled approx 15 ft to the ground. only 3 people were taken in to the hospital although it looked like there were going to be more casualties. one boy was seriously injured and he had to go through a series of opperations and therapy for a very long time.

i was there when it happened and i must say that we all clearly saw the yad hashem in this when minutes before the collapse a fellow yid P.E. was ashhamed in front of the thousands of spectators, all in the name of chasidishe politics.

which bobov 45th or 48th?

Same thing.

S O R R Y

There is only ONE Bobov

from an engineering stadpoint, it probably wouldnt matter if the bleachers were constructed of steel. the constant harmonis generated from the shaking back and forth all at once would cause this to fail. that is why when soldiers march, when they come to a bridge they change their pace. this is a contributive reason that hotel dance floor collapsed in israel israel a few years ago in addition, if you ever go to a chasunah at the rose castle, when the dancing commences the door on the first floor swing open and shut due to the deflection of the loads reacting to the synchronized dancing.

You try bringing the City to Bais Din, how else are they going to sue? I am sure that the only place they want money from is the City, and maybe, Bobov's insurance.

You can always sue the City of New York in a civil court but how does that allow you to sue your fellow Jew in one?

Bobov's insurance company, if there is one, is not a named defendant in the case.

how many people are suing & for how much?

i remember it very well i was standing right there it wasen't like the ones u see by a rabbi that are build strong with mettle, they were the ones u see in a ball park made for sitting

What happened with P. E.?

This happened when there was only one Bobov, but now there are 2 so which one are they suing?

Each one is now going to claim that they are NOT the "real Bobov" so they shouldn't have to pay! :)
