JUSTICE DELAYED FOR 'BEAT VICTIM'
An elderly civil engineer allegedly beaten by a man for taking photos of a Brooklyn construction site is still waiting for his day in court - three years later.
"I'm discouraged and I'm disgusted," said Harold Weinberg, 70, the victim of the 2005 assault. "They're thinking maybe I'll drop dead in the meantime."
The dustup between the Orthodox victim and the Hasidic suspect took place while Weinberg was taking pictures in Borough Park, where neighbors complained that construction was damaging their property.
The accused attacker, construction manager Isidor Farkas, "came after me with fists flailing, scoring direct hit after direct hit," Weinberg said, adding that Farkas also stole his $500 camera.
Police sources said Farkas was caught with the camera, but papers filed by cops show that Weinberg didn't report stolen property - a discrepancy he characterized as a mistake. The Brooklyn DA later added a robbery charge.
Cops also lost the recording of a witness' 911 call, and Farkas' lawyers kept delaying.
Then the judge tossed out the robbery charge, ruling that prosecutors waited too long to add it. The case is on hold.

Comments:
I know this Weinberg gut and he is not Orthodox.
He was out to get the hasid- he was trespassing on the work site, taking pictures, trying to get the builders in trouble. Really a Moiser.

Your comments reveal your true nature as a bile-spewing troglodyte. I hope your "chavrusa" in olam haba is none other than Meir Lansky, or perhaps Bugsy Siegel would suit a petty criminal such as your ilk.

I have had dealings with Mr Weinberg. He is a decent person but could be a nudnik. He is a stickler for right and wrong and will not allow a wrong which causes danger to anybody. People like this keep our city safe.
it is clear that most people side with the behemah that beat him up. Why not think about the people that are neighbors, that are being harmed by illegal, unsafe construction?
If he was indeed trespassing that is a minor crime and if prsecuted is prosecuted by police and the courts, NOT be a bully beating up an old man that cought him doing wrong.

who says farkas beat him, its his word against his word, Oh I forgot the NY Post that a real credible source
Dear Editor:
I believe Isidor farkas created his own fate by assaulting a 70 year old engineer in 2005 while the engineer was retained to examine the building, in which Mr.Farkas took offense, and attacked this Civil Engineer. Shame on Farkas. It is unfortunate the the "granny law" was not enacted in 2005, the year the assault occured . That law can put any individual who assaults a person over the age of 65 in jail for 7 years if that individual is convicted. Mr. Farkas had no right to attack this engineer. He will eventually plea to assault or go to trial. In any way Mr.Farkas will have this blemish on his record for life.
