Woman arrested in stabbing of Manhattan rabbi, linked to second suspected antisemitic attack
Anna Mochalova, 32, has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing a 26-year-old rabbi with a needle in Manhattan's Diamond District after following him, the New York Post reported Sunday evening.
The woman also allegedly attacked another Jewish man about two hours earlier. It remains unclear whether she will face antisemitic hate crime charges in connection with the rabbi's stabbing.

Two Iranians to Stand Trial Over Alleged Plot to Attack Jews in the U.K. on Yom Kippur
Two Iranian nationals are due to go on trial next year charged over an alleged plot to use a homemade bomb to attack a Jewish community in northern England at the behest of a figure believed to be based in Iran, a London court was told on Friday.
Rahman Salehi, 34, and Salam Ahmadyan, 36, appeared at London's Old Bailey court accused of preparing acts of terrorism. The lawyers for the two men told the court that both intended to plead not guilty.

Jewish Federations to hire 100 professionals to combat rising antisemitism across North America
The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) announced Wednesday an expanded community response to rising antisemitism, including plans to hire 100 new professionals for frontline advocacy and community relations.
The new roles will concentrate on local and state advocacy, K-12 and higher education, and interfaith and intergroup partnerships, joining existing teams to counter hate manifesting across civic life.

The Catholic Italian Ventriloquist Who Loves Hasidic Jews
John Pizzi emerged as one of the hottest rising stars in the entertainment industry and has appeared on America’s Got Talent as well as comedy clubs all over the U.S. where he opens for celebrities like Joy Behar and Weird Al. Besides being a sought-after ventriloquist and magician, John is a good friend to the Orthodox Jewish community; his connection began early in life.
John was born in Brooklyn, right next to Borough Park and raised Christian. His mother was a piano teacher who became very popular with the local religious Jewish children. Pizzi jokes that he was raised “almost Jewish,” except that he went to a Catholic school. He was recruited into the family piano teaching business when his mother couldn’t keep up with the growing demand of students. Pizzi noticed from the start that the observant Jewish families he interacted with were always kind and polite and would make the extra effort to lend a helping hand.
He appreciated that just up the road was a community that was a little different than his all Italian-Irish neighborhood. He was (and is) impressed by how strong the religious Jewish communities are, how they stick together, and the humanity they have for one another. Pizzi saw that many in his neighborhood looked down on the frum community. He noticed the negative, judgmental comments they made, as they didn’t understanding the foreign customs of the religious Jewish community. Pizzi would always speak up for and defend the Orthodox Jews, though his peers never understood why.
In the last several years, Pizzi has gotten even closer to the Orthodox Jewish community as his work has brought him to a slew of sheva brachot and Pesach programs! He proudly explains that sheva brachot literally mean “seven blessings” and are a week of celebrations for a bride and groom after their wedding, though he points out that his secular Jewish chiropractor was unaware of the meaning! Many of his jokes can be filled with innuendos, but he makes sure to deliver ones that fit the venue. While there’s a perception that Hasidic Jews are super serious people who walk around looking down at the pavement. Pizzi gets to watch them laugh and enjoy themselves in a family setting. He sees the men dancing and hugging; so unlike the the stereotype, which Pizzi says he continues to correct whenever he hears comments like, “Oh, those people.”
After a lifetime of championing the community for their kindness and publicizing how they always go the extra mile to help someone in need, a few months ago, John got to experience that chesed up close. While driving to a series of gigs in Monticello, Pizzi’s car got a flat. After wrangling on the spare tire in the rain for a half hour, Pizzi arrived to his first gig forty minutes late. While he felt horrible and apologized profusely, the Hasidic patrons there were very understanding and helped him unload his equipment for the show. After it was over, they helped him transfer his things back to his car so that he could be on his way to the next venue – also a show for Orthodox Jews. Once he finally wrapped up his work for the night – at three o’clock in the morning, Pizzi realized that he needed to drive one hundred and forty miles home on a donut tire – not a safe proposition! He was feeling helpless and hopeless, then out of the blue, two Orthodox men, clad in yarmulkes and beards appeared. Explaining that they are part of Chaveirim – an organization founded to help people who are stuck on the road or locked out of a house. They patched the hole in his tire and re-inflated it, refusing payment as they explained that this is simply their job. Pizzi was incredulous at being the recipient of such kindness.

Man arrested after three Jewish women report being assaulted in north-east London
A 33-year-old man has been arrested following reports that three Jewish women, including one pushing a baby in a pram, were assaulted in north-east London.
Police were called to Upper Clapton Road in Stamford Hill in Hackney just before 2pm on Monday.

Volunteers from Shomrim, a Jewish neighbourhood watch organisation, had detained a man before calling the Metropolitan Police.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault, while the three women are understood to have sustained minor injuries.
Police are investigating the attack as a suspected antisemitic hate crime and have stepped up patrols in the local area to reassure residents.
The 33-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in relation to a separate incident in Islington on Friday.

Hamburg Court Sentences Two Men for Plotting Against Jewish Leaders on Behalf of Iran
court in Hamburg has sentenced two men to prison for planning attacks on Jewish leaders in Germany on behalf of the Iranian intelligence service. Both defendants were found guilty of espionage and attempted murder. One of them, a 54-year-old Danish national of Afghan origin, was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison, while the other, a 43-year-old Afghan living in Denmark, received a four and a half year sentence.
Prosecutors stated that the 54-year-old had received orders directly from Iran’s al-Quds Brigades, the external arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He had recruited his accomplice to carry out one of the attacks or to find someone who could. The 43-year-old was also tasked with finding a weapon to execute the attack.
Among the planned targets for attack were Josef Schuster, president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, and Green Party politician Volker Beck, president of the German-Israeli Society. Beck called for the expulsion of the Iranian ambassador and consular officials from Berlin following the release of the charges.
Both defendants were arrested by Danish authorities in the city of Aarhus last year and extradited to Germany. In addition to the attacks on high-profile individuals, the 54-year-old had made preparations for an arson attack on a kosher store in Berlin.

GUARDIAN, BBC BURY DATA SHOWING JEWS ARE MOST TARGETED RELIGIOUS GROUP
A poll in late 2025 showed that 96% of British Jews felt less safe than they did before Oct. 7, 2023, while more than half—59%—said they avoid displaying visible signs of their Jewish identity out of fear linked to antisemitism. Jewish attitudes are based on reality, as reportsby the CST continue to demonstrate record levels of antisemitic incidents in Britain:
The fact that Jews in Britain have, perversely, faced a tsunami of racism since Oct. 7, the worst antisemitic massacres since the Holocaust, is reinforced by a separate data set: a new report by the UK Home Office – coveredfirst by The Telegraph – revealing that Jews in England and Wales are, by far, the religious group most targeted by religious-based hate crimes, based on their share of their population.
In fact, Jews are nine times more likely than Muslims to be victims of hate crime, with Jews facing such crimes at a rate of 116 offences per 10,000 people last year, compared with 13 per 10,000 for Muslims.
The data encompassed the twelve months from March 2025 to March 2026.
Yet, many British media outlets erased this astonishing disparity, focusing instead on the percentage increase in hate crimes targeting Muslims from the previous year.
Typical was a report in the Guardian, “Racial and religious hate crimes at record high in England and Wales, data shows,” Oct. 8, which devoted 11 paragraphs to anti-Muslim hate crimes, with just two, at the end of the piece, devoted towards antisemitism. The extremely important context concerning how Jews are nine times more likely than Muslims to be targeted by hate crimes was omitted.
Similarly, the BBC (“Hate crime up by 7% in England and Wales, Home Office figures suggest,” Oct. 8) omitted the data demonstrating this astounding disparity, as did Sky News (“Race and religious hate crime in England and Wales hits record high”, Oct. 8).
Other than the Telegraph, the only other major outlet to note that Jews are nine times more likely than Muslims to be the victim of a religious hate crime was The Times, (“Hate crimes hit record in ‘stark warning’ over bigotry”, Oct. 8) in a piece that also included the graph shown above.
As the CST wrote on X in response to the Home Office’s report, “there is an urgent need to reduce the incitement connected to…events in the Middle East” which fuels antisemitism. Given that the Guardian, BBC and Sky Newscontinue to churn out misleading, inaccurate, and incendiary coverage about Israel, it’s not surprising that these outlets chose not to report on data demonstrating that Jews continue to be disproportionately targeted by the incitement that they help fuel.

Recorded anti-Jewish hate crimes rise 10% in England and Wales
Hate crimes targeting Jewish people in England and Wales rose by 10% in the year ended in March, according to the latest datareleased by the British government.
Police-reported hate crime — including crime influenced by other factors such as race and sexual orientation — overall increased by 7% compared with the previous year, according to the Home Office data released last week.
British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband posted on X on Monday, “Antisemitism has no place in our society. This morning, I hosted a crucial discussion with the J7 Global Task Force to discuss how we can work together across countries to stamp out the scourge of antisemitism.”
Following the meeting, the Board of Deputies of British Jews issued a statement explaining that Miliband and the task force had discussed, among other things, “the sharp rise in global antisemitism” and the “continued demonisation of Israel.” Representatives from the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, Argentina and Australia make up the task force.

Jewish schools in Brooklyn evacuate following bomb threats
Two Jewish schools in Brooklyn were evacuated on Friday after receiving phoned-in bomb threats minutes apart, according to the New York Police Department.
According to police reports cited by local news outlets Patch and News 12 Brooklyn, the first threatening phone call was received at the Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School at approximately 9:54 a.m.
Six minutes later, a similar call was placed to the United Talmudical Academy in Williamsburg. Emergency Service Units and K-9 detection teams responded to both schools, ordering evacuations and conducting thorough building searches.

Mamdani’s great antisemitism cover-up
If today’s antisemitism is defined by anything, it is hypocrisy. By and large—a few of its more radical Muslim factions excepted—the progressive/Muslim “Red-Green Alliance” that spearheads the first antisemitic mass movement in American history portrays itself as a caste of saints, the finest and most moral people in the entire history of the known universe. They make their case for annihilating Israel and, if we are to believe their slogans (and we should), world Jewry itself, on the basis of human rights, compassion, liberation, empathy, and a deep and abiding concern and love for all mankind.
That all of this is nonsense and conclusively disproven by their incitement, physical violence and acts of murder is beside the point, because hypocrisy, as the saying goes, is always the deference vice pays to virtue.
This hypocrisy is self-serving, to say the least, but also essential to the antisemites themselves.
It is not impossible that today’s antisemites know quite well that they are evil, and this may be precisely why they do what they do. Human beings have a strong streak of sadomasochism in them, and thus evil can certainly be vertiginously thrilling. To admit to this, however, would destroy the antisemites’ pretensions of rectitude, and—except in moments of ultimate ecstasy and immunity—must be occluded by hypocrisy. Vice must defer to virtue to make virtue impossible. Antisemites, after all, always tell themselves that they are good people doing a good thing.
Last week, this was illustrated by an incident and an initiative.
The incident occurred in Texas, where a man was arrested for planning to attack the state capitol building. Buried below the lede in many media reports was the fact that the perpetrator was motivated by murderous antisemitism, specifically citing the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC. He reportedly told a friend, “These people have to be exterminated.” One could be forgiven for assuming that such a sweeping statement referred not just to AIPAC, but to all the Jews.
The initiative was a plan to fight antisemitism proposed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an open antisemite who has referred to AIPAC as “monsters.” He did so alongside numerous other hypocrisies, such as saying the Jewish state has no right to exist (he said no such thing of Muslim states); refusing to condemn the genocidal slogan “globalize the intifada”; and immediately after Oct. 7 saying, “I mourn the hundreds of people killed across Israel and Palestine in the last 36 hours,” which must by definition include the Hamas terrorists who committed the atrocity.
In a supreme act of hypocrisy, he has done all this while claiming to oppose antisemitism based on his allegedly progressive values. That antisemitism is perhaps the most reactionary ideology in the world today appears not to occur to him.
Given this ubiquity of the hypocritical, it is perhaps not surprising to see an antisemite proposing a plan to fight antisemitism, and indeed, the press release on the plan underlines this better than any outside criticism could do.
