Lead paint found in Heimishe apartment
A Heimishe child was at the doctor and underwent a routine lead test which resulted in a show of high blood lead levels. The family had the apartment checked for lead. The New York City Health Department came down to check out the apartment. It turned out that though the apartment had been repainted freshly, however the porch still contained lead paint. The family has temporarily moved out of their apartment. Consumption of paint chips containing lead can cause high blood lead levels in children. Elevated levels for an extended period of time can lead to brain damage or learning delay and disabilities.

Comments:
first of all in all seriousness. the ingestion of lead dust retards the developement of the nervous system in children under the age of 6. it can also harm older children and adults but higher amunts are needed to be found in the blood stream. freshly painted surfaces doesn't necessarily keep the lead dust from getting into the environment. the biggest places that lead dust is foungd would be doors windows and steps. mostly friction points. as one rubbs the paint it turns into dust particles that get on the hands and into the mouth. the home owner or renter should use a cleaning soloution with trisodium phoshate to break up the tenacity of the lead particles.
can you post which apartment buliding this was as its a mitzvah of vinishmartem me'od l'nafshoiseichem
YOU CANT HIDE FROM IT IT IS EVERYWHERE. IT WAS USED ON ALL THE BRIDGES, PLAYGROUNDS, AND MOST OUTDOOR BUILDINGD THE DURABILITY WAS SUPERB YET HE SIDE EFFECTS ARE HARMFULL. ITS BEEN FOUNE IN SOIL SAMPLES WHERE CARS WERE WORKED ON FROM THE GASOLINE. PEOPLE NEED TO WASH THEIR HANDS ANS THEIR CHILDRENS HANDS BEFORE EATING. BABY WIPE ALSO ARE EQUIPPED WITH SOMTHING THAT PICKS OFF THE LEAD DUST.
trisodium phoshate
Trisodium phosphate may not be legal anymore - the environmentalists managed to get it banned in NJ years ago, and the substitute is sodium metasilicate. In any case, lead abatement is best left to professionals, and if a rental is involved, the landlord is responsible for same (unless somehow the tenant managed to get hold of lead paint after signing the lease - I don't think any lead paint exists anymore).
