The Jewish music challenge

Take the Jewish music challenge. Post the name of the last Jewish music album that you actually enjoyed listening to.

Comments:
Aharon Razel-Live In Jerusalem
He's really talented and, for a change in the jewish music world, writes his own songs and knows how to play his own instruments!

Does Matisyahu count?

If not, I vote for Lipa's Keneinahora.

Very original. Although the new MBD has a few enjoyable songs.

Leil Shabbos Tish, I'm a sticker for oldies but goodies

MBD's Efshar L'taken, Lipa's Kenienihora, Helfogot's Chazzanus, Basically mos of the heimishe jewish music.

Not so recent, but 8th day's debut album "Tracht Gut" and there soon to be released single "Krenitz" are AMAZING. check them out at www.myspace.com/sm8thday

Chaim Yisrael and Itzik Eishel great songs with decent enough voices, though sometimes the middle eastern style is too much for me, but overall, very good.

You are asking about albums not songs which, for me, throws out Lipa's and MBD's new releases, even though there are a few good songs.
Lev Tahor 4 was pretty good. Nice arrangements, good variety of songs, more than decent vocals.

Can't wait for Avraham Fried's new cd, may it come out Bimeheiro Biyameinu.

Chaim Dovid "Lefonecho"

People that listen to goyshe music have a hard time enjoying jewish music.
It's as if you started to eat treife food, and then tried to go back and enjoy eating only Kosher.

Gut Gezugt!!

Frank London- Chazonos
Hasidic new wave- belly of abraham
Lipas alright too.

Ben Folds five (they are jewish) and their music is better then any oy oy oy niggun

Madonna, he studies Kabala and sings jewish sounding songs. She is not jewish but her songs are.

... to be fair, Avril Lavigne is only half Jewish. So it's only half an avairah to listen to her music.

Uncle Moishe

Avraham Fried's "Melave Malka"

I just love Yehuda!

MATISYAHU "YOUTH"

MBD's Efshar Letaken. Most of the songs are fantastic!

Yo La Tengo (well, lead singer Ira Kaplan is Jewish)

The Rabbi's Sons - Where is Boruch Chait now that we need him?

I'm crazy over YOUTH! Matisyahu has a great voice and his lyrics are blazin'! I particularly love "INDESTRUCTABLE."

Aron Razel.

The Unforgettable RABBI SHLOMO CARLBACH z"l.
May he rest in peace...
I love listening to his songs his voice it has tachlis, there is meaning in his words, his song His soul is in there.

"CHICKEN LITTLE" SINGS WELL. SHAME THEY THREW HIM OUT OF AMERICAN IDOL.

Mimini Michael by Michael Sacofsky

Actually has musical talent, and while not following the cookie cutter approach of most Jewish music, he doesn't do the Matisyahu/Blue Fringe way of having goyish music written by Jews and with Jewish lyrics that you call Jewish music.
