Pizza vs. Chulent
The Motze Pesach - Leil Shishi war has begun. Throngs of Boro-Parkers have packed away their Pesach dishes and are parading down Thirteenth Avenue trying to make up their mind on what to eat. On one hand there is the Chiyuv D'oiraisah of eating Pizza to make sure that they are not oiver on Bal Toisef. While on the other hand there is the equally important Mitzvah of eating chulent on Leil Shishi. In order to circumvent this dilemma some people are opting to eat first the Pizza and then to wait on line for the Chulent for a half an hour, this way they can be mekayim both Gevaldige Mitzvos. I don't know, but if you ask me, the only thing that I can think of that is worse than a Pizza baked in five minutes is a five-minute Chulent.

Comments:
They make all kinds of Trief pizzas, so why not a parve Chulent and Kishka pizza especially for occassions like this. Comeon Amnon and Mendel, let's get on the ball here.

The same phenomenom occured here in Miami - I personally can't imagine anyone that hungry after days of Yom Tov. If its an inyan of eating chometz - there is an old tradition of buying beer and using it for havdolo after Pesach. Personally I look forward to this evening's freshly baked (at home) challah.
This blog is a riot! The "Leil Shishi War"?? A Chiyuv de-Oraitah?? Gevalt!!
Personally, I am disgusted by the 'modern' Jewish minhag of having kasher-le-Pesach bagels, pizza, pancakes and the like. What the heck is the whole point of eliminating hametz?? It should be 'bal yira'eh u-bal yimatzeh', not Pesach hametz look-alikes!
I'm a little different...not only don't I miss hametz, I LOVE matzah, and tonight we will be making hamotzi on left over matzah shmurah. That's the way it is. For seudah shniyah we'll have challah, at a full seudah kiddish in shul. But tonight, hand shmurah for us - yum!!

depending how strikt u are on pesach- people that dont eat anything processed, hardly sugar and oil- yes every second counts to get something normal to eat, but people who eat everything possible kosher lpesach (like most boro park and flatbush)- what difference is it to them- do they have pizza every week, regularly? so youll eat vegetable soup- koshel lpesach crakers with cream cheese, serial and ilk- u have it all these days! its sad- who feels pesach that way? a gr8 rav once said- the more chumras on pesach ( all the meshugane ones)= more brochas for the year- so have hiskafiya for 7/8 days! gut vuch
you people are all sick
you probably couldnt wait a whole pesach to fast out on pizza
a shame on you
your pesach wasnt worth anything!!
