Police Search For Man Who Sexually Attacked Girl In Williamsburg

Police are searching for a man they say may have sexually assaulted two seven-year-old Hasidic girls in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn Wednesday night.

Police say the suspect approached the girls around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Ross Street and Lee Avenue.

He asked for directions and one of the girls followed him into an alley. That's where police say the man kissed and fondled her. He drove off in a dark SUV when an adult came upon the scene.

Residents say they cannot believe what happened.

"This is a safe neighborhood. And you begin to seem to think you can't let your little kids out into the neighborhood, on the streets," said resident Deborah Werczberger. "I have an right office over here, I'd never think it would happen."

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, approximately 30-years-old wearing a denim jacket and blue jeans.

Comments:
I don't get it- With everybody so on top of one another in Williamsburg- not a single person was out on the street that could hear and see the father running after the guy- to get the license plate of the SUV? Streets in Williamsburg are busy at 9 PM.

I have two questions to ask, first of all what are two Hasidic seven year old girls doing in the street at 9 p.m. where were the parents, baking kokosh and lukshen?who leaves seven year old girls alone in the street at night?the parents deserve to be locked up in jail for child abuse..I am sure the father wears Rabeinu Taams gatches and the mother wears a kupke until her nose..also I want to ask..you say it was a light-skinned male it makes me think and wonder if it is another one of those sick Chasidish perverts roaming the street again...

was it a Yid ? after Yom Kippur he had to let his load off so he is going around molesting Yiddeshe Girls? I hope it is not a Yid, it would make me sick to see and hear another Chillul Hashem..Please let it not be a Yid...

OYE VEH !!Teiere Yiddeshe Kinderlach, where were your parents?why did they let you go out at night alone ?I hope the children are o.k., I hope their parents and all the parents in Willamsburgh learnt their lesson not to let children out at night alone..Hashem should watch over all Yiddeshe children..

Again and again, when will parents relize that you should not leave children out alone at night..when ? when ?where were you ? baking kigel, sowing a goblon, knippink tzitzes, klobing hadasim..where were you ?Please all parents stop doing the unimportant things and keep a close watch over your children..we live in a jungle, there are chayos all over town..Simi Shamayim..Thank Hashem for the precious children that we have and watch over them constantly...

You have left out a very important part of this news story where a local activist is quoted as follows:

“We live the old tradition of kids go out at night, babysitting, helping their parents,” said Isaac Abraham, a community activist. “It's a very normal, active life. If you deprived them that, or you pull back from that, then you're basically an in-house prisoner."

I have never heard such garbage. Two girls, one seven and one nine, should under no circumstances be left on a street, unsupervised ANYWHERE let alone in Brooklyn. I do not allow my children to be anywhere at any time of day without supervision of a responsible and trusted adult (which is limited to my mother, my sister and my husband). Of course, one cannot always be overseeing your children which brings me to
another point: HOW ARE YOU RAISING YOUR CHILDREN IF THEY WILL WILLINGLY GO INTO AN ALLEY WITH A TOTAL STRANGER!!! My husband and I, without negative influence, have carefully instructed our children about strangers and inappropriate circumstance with adults.

Clearly, Mr. Abraham is interested in passing the responsibility off on to people other than the parents, the perpetrator and from what he has said a completely delusional and irresponsible community.

There is a sketch of the perpetrator. People might recognize the criminal.

Don't be so quick to condemn the parents and make those sick comments about chassidim. If you read something in the news you can be sure you didn't get the whole story, certainly not the whole truth.

if you know Williamsburgh, then you know 3 year old children walk in the street by their self. Yes i will blame chassidism. Dont have 20 kids if you dont know where all of them are.

It works like this, these two little Williamsburgh meidalach saw the way Mameh hut gputz un ret mit mener in gas, and they were just practicing what they saw. Don't you realize that when you ask for it, you (or your neighbors kinderlach) are bound to get it. If Jewish women dress azoi vee zoinois in gas, don't cry afterwards when something terrible happens.

I have yet to see a williamsberg woman dressed "azoi vee zoina in gas". You obviously have a sick mind if you think a Williamsberg woman looks like a prostitute.

This is a safe neighborhood. And you begin to seem to think you can't let your little kids out into the neighborhood, on the streets," said resident Deborah Werczberger. "I have an right office over here, I'd never think it would happen."
Williamsburg is the last place I call SAFE!!!! If you really care about your kids, don't let them roam the streets by themselves never mind in Wlliamsburg!!

I'm confused- was it one 7 year old and one 9 year old or in the next article two 7 year olds or are they two different articles?
