Jewish Children's Museum in Crown Heights price gouges

The Jewish Children's Museum in Crown Heights has been price gouging on its admission price lekoved Chol HaMoed. Not only does the museum require that people purchase tickets in advance for Chol HaMoed, but the price has also been raised from the regular high of $10 per person to an even higher price of $12 especially for Chol HaMoed.

Comments:
It is all leshem shomayim, to buy a new plastic crown for you know whom

That's a 20% increase. That's really not fair.

well gas prices went up to transport moshiach costs big $$

Perfectly legal and smart. Why not rag on the kosher food companies who raise prices for the items for Pesach? Why should cottage cheese cost a dollar more?

why dont you call up the director and ask him for a reason? dan lkav zchus.

maybe the shows were extra expensive?

maybe they needed more workers for the big crowds?

i would really suggest you be a responsible blogger as you have shown in the past and call them for their reasoning in raising prices....

You don't have to go there on Chol Hamoed or any other time. If you are not Lubavitch you don't have to go there at all. If you are Lubavitch you are supporting your own kind, so it's okay to pay.(Besides it is cheaper than the "Jewish" circus, Great adventure and all those other places that don't have such a Jewish Ta-am.)

Chol Hamoed is the equivalent of the PA Bridge & Tunnels "rush hour". You pay more to come into the city during rush hour. They want to get what they can on Chol Hamoed. You have the choice of taking your kids to the airport for a free trip if you so desire.

To the Chaptzem editor are you a sona Lubavithch why are you posting this article did the JCM do anything bad to you???

no one is forcing anyone to go to the museum. But as 3:03 says, they do have to hire alot of extra help to accomodate the huge crowd that sees this as the kosher entertainment parents prefer their children to see. No one is making money off of this, yet.
and to say the money is going for apikorsus is just jealous people talking....people who cant stand chabad having the success they do, in all areas! the same people that travel the world and take advantage of chabads success!

It is a nice frum place and local. It is not Gret Adventure and all the other crp with non Tzninus Etc....

We hould th the Museum for opening and if you are jelouse then open your own museum in BP for 25 Million!!!!!!!!

Go to the BP Extraganza in 56 and 16. I went there tody it cost me 60 dollars for 2 kids with the games.

That Extravagaza is being sponcered by 50 Orgizatins such as Con Ed Keyspan etc. and it still is expensive and outdoors with no overhead.

The museum is Jewish indoors and a Kidush Hashem. over 200K non Frum jewish kids went through there door each year from around the world.

Does BP with all there money anything like that to show a NON Frum Jewish Kid.

What r you going to show them who has the nicest house with the biggest chandelear??!!!

Take an example from the great things chabad does.

Will 2 dollars break your bank??!!!
Do you know how many extra girls work there, do you pay there insurnce and Security guards bills??

OMG i can hear this!! I loved the meuseum and i am sure they needed more money to cover extra costs, maybe the beis hamikdosh show costed alot. why dont you do what the other guy commented that you call JCM and ask them and post the answer.

I love chabad! they rock!

Is there a discount if you are Jewish? :)

the discount only applies if you show up wearing tfillin on chol hamoed.

NYC Web Site to report Passover price-gouging: http://home2.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/pr2007/pr_032207.shtml

I went and only paid $9 a ticket which i beleive is the regular price

"i would really suggest you be a responsible blogger as you have shown in the past"

Hahahahah

This is the best joke I've heard in YEARS.

Do you really think that this tuches-licking will get Mr. Chptzem to remove or alter this blog entry?

Oh, and Mr. Chaptzem, maybe you can explain why the Musueum of Natural History charges TWENTY ONE DOLLARS per adult and SIXTEEN DOLLARS per kid for some stupid butterfly exibit???

I guess it's more in style to bash the Jews these days (look at the stupid BP comments)

Keep it up!

the other $2 was for the special Puppet show !!!! no go apologize

pkomtI actually went last year, nice museum way overated as it is so small and you cant manuver! lets not forget that the museum got a huge federal grant to open that museum yet they still charge outrages prices! The musuem might be nice if they only allowed 10 kida at once but any more then that you cant move around and the two toys they have are taken!!! Beware the bottom florr very dangerous as they have cement floors with bricks pertruting,,, my son tripped got a nich gash (2 yrs old) and i heard that he wasnt the only one. the only "assistnce" i got from staff to my bleeding son (on his forhead with a large bump) was from the spanich goy who threatened to call the police if i fed him some junk in that room as there was a "eating area"! i told her to call the police and i offered her to use my cell as long as she would just shut up cause im trying to calm my son down!!!!

the price is allways the same $10

on chol hamoed there is an additional OPTIONAL puppet show which is not there normaly and that show costs $3. (for a total of $13, not $12)

and you don't have to reserve in advance, you can allways come to the door and buy a ticket IF IT'S STILL AVAILABLE, it just so happens that on chol hamoed it's allways sold out in advance.
