Vizhnitzer Chasunah Hall no longer accepting bookings
The Vizhnitzer Chasunah Hall in Boro-Park has had a court injunction placed against it that it can no longer accept new bookings and will have to cease to operate as soon as it has fulfilled its current wedding booking obligations. The case, which is now headed to Supreme Court, was brought against Vizhnitz by the neighbors of the hall who claim to be overwhelmed by the noise and trash that is brought about by the chasunah hall.

Comments:
the pupa hall on 51 should be next.
the garbage, the noise, and their tax exempt unfair competition with real halls.

Supreme Court of what?!? New York? Thats the lowest court in the State. The United States? I highly doubt it. So where is the cases headed to?
The "Neighbors". One smelly rat that cannot bear to see others enjoying life. He is the instigator of the whole commotion. True it is unpleasant to hear noises in the middle of the night, but how about the neighbors of Ateres Chaya? They are deaf ? No! They are normal human beings that understand the situation and are willing to deal with it. Let him get himself a life and let others live !
Whoever Mr. Angry is that posted the last part of this polemic. This IS a residential area, not zoned for wedding halls and so forth, but the good neighbours try to tolerate it, to the extent that it doesnt interfere with their lives. Forget about the trash, what about finding a parking for your own car on a wedding night? Why does one need to park 2 blocks away to enable a young 7th cousin of the kallah to park nearby? And yes, the noise, it is a major factor when one has to raise little children, who need to go to sleep early, or when one has to awake at 5 am to go to learn and to work. All chasodim are wonderful, as long as they dont peel skin of another's back. Try not to forget that real estate prices shot down the day the hall was opened, try to think about someones pocket too sometimes. Lastly, have you ever tried to drive from Midwood to Boro Park on a wedding night when then ONE through street is constantly blocked? I dont live anywhere near that hall, but the traffic jams bother the HELL out of me.
There is absolutely no reason for the newlyweds to get cursed on their wedding night by a mother trying to put kids to bed or by an older person trying to walk in between the trash they put out
The complaint and the campaign against the hall is being carried out by one individual who rents and apartment across from the hall. If he was truly bothered, he should just move. As for the homeowners on the block, for them I feel bad. To their credit though, Vishnitz has done a phenomenal job trying to keep the noise down and the traffic moving.
it is time to LOWER THE MUSIC at ALL weddings. In israel it is capped @ 85 decibels. This level would be tolerable to all neighbors.
whoever the one person is should be highly commended.halls in a residential neighborhood is a disgrace. the next to go should be Chynka who also does not care about the neighbors regarding garbage, noise, traffic, etc. etc.
the excuse that the yeshivas need the income that the halls provide is baloney alittle menchlichkite towards the neighbors is more important

DON'T BLAME VIZNITZ HALL FOR ALL THE TRAFFIC AND NOISE ON THE BLOCK - REMEMBER THAT 53RD ST IS THE MAJOR THOROUGH-FARE FOR FLATBUSH-TO-BORO PARK. THAT IS THE MAJOR CAUSE OF THE HONKING.
THE OTHER CAUSE IS THE YIDDEN THAT HAVE BAD MIDDOS AND CARE NOT ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE'S SLEEP, BY HONKING, DOUBLE-PARKING, OR EVEN TALKING LOUD AT NIGHT.
BAD MIDDOS IS NOT DUE TO THE VIZNITZ HALL - ITS DUE TO LOUSY CHINUCH AND LOSS OF MORAL VALUES PERPETUATED BY THE "BISHVILI NIVRO HO'OLAM" CROWD.
AND THAT IS ALL OVER BORO PARK, FLATBUSH, WILLAIMSBURG, ETC.
CLOSING VIZNITZ WILL NOT HELP THIS ISSUE AT ALL - JUST WILL INCONVENIENCE THE COMMUNITY.
AND PLEASE NOTE THE NEW POSTING STATING THAT 3 NEW HALLS WILL BE BUILT AT 18TH AND 52ND. SO EVEN IF YOU CLOSE VISNITZ, IT WILL BE OF NO AVAIL.

Ya' think we can get some pictures of the grumpy old man or renter or whoever this 'wonderful' no life is? Let's get out there in full force with those digital cameras!
Its true that there is no real problem with the hall itself however the problem is the people honking their horns 12 midnight, that being said, any person wanting to build a hall must take into account that people will selfishly honk their horns in middle of the night with no regards for anyone else...heck I even have people coming on my block and honking their horns 1am with no regards for the sleeping folk.
There is somewhat of a viable solution to this problem. There should be a couple of police officers (the police in BP are bored anyways as there is very little crime here) stationed by the hall writing tickets for double parked cars and people honking their horns. Why hasn't this been done so far ? I can only wonder.

Me and my family happen to be living on the block. It is well known that many families are unfortunately agreeing with the old man. There homeowners that are giving money to this individual to fight this. I was personally asked by a heimish person to participate financially. It is unfortunately that they are supporting MASIRAH. I wont mined that the hall is closed down, but it should be through DIN TORAH.
