Massive flood at Shomer Shabbos in Boro-Park

The large amount of rainfall today caused a drain overflow, sending heavy amounts of rain water into the basement Shul of Shomer Shabbos. The entire basement was covered with over three inches of rain. Observe the Bal T'filah standing on a cardboard island.

Thank you Yankel for the pix

To quote the tzadekes from Lakewood:

I am shocked and horified that the baal tfila is not wearing a gartel, jacket.

Maybe it will wash out all the garbage from that basement its gross to walk in there with all that food it looks like a homeless shelter

to 1:33pm, I see ajacket and possibly a gartel, s/t is holding the tzitis up.

The minyan must go on....

It's the summer all the jackets & Gartlach are in the country

Those that can critisize what Shomer Shaboss looks like, do not know the true meaning of Chesed or Hachnosas Orchim. There are people that unfortunately do not have what to eat and there are those that are truly homeless, and they know that whenever they come to Shomer Shabbos they will not be turned away or go away hungry. True that it is not the cleanest, but unfortunately that is part of the consenquences for this great Mitzvah.

There is a place called Masbia they give you food as much as you want you dont have to make a shul a mokem mikdash look like a barn!!!!

to 11:01 AM
This is the way it has been for years. If you don't Like it daven upstairs (or is that too inconvenient for you?). If you want you can sponsor a maid. Furthermore, shame on you for referring to the basement which is a makom kadosh as a barn (especially during the 9 days) the only place that looks like a barn is your house!

Shomer shabbos is not the place for men home and the wives are in the country. Shomer Shabbos is the place for people that truly do not have or cannot afford to get a bite. People are not always interested in going to Masbia for a meal. Sometimes you just want to grab a bite and go on. It is a known thing that all those that give advice to others on what to do, do not really undersand the problem. I hardly doubt that those that complain about Shomer Shabbos, ever had true Orchim in their home.

Wow...I hope that nothing happened to the Shul, but I do think that it is disgusting the way it looks down there, it looks and smells worse then a homeless shelter, why do the Rabbonim allow a Shul to look like this , it is against the Torah....

I totally agree with anon 11:01AM
There are so places in Boro Park for hungry Yidden to go eat..there is Masbia that gives you food ''Bderech Kovod''you do not have to be embarrased to eat there...Yes, in Shomer Shabbos it is a shame to eat there and yes, it looks like a barn, I have been there many times...why should we daven upstairs? there are Minyanim downstairs too...come on...get a life...We guys like a clean Shul to daven in, not a filthy barn...And to all hungry guys out there that your families are in the mountains, give me a call and I will give you all ''Good Places To Eat''

Come on guys...

Dont kvetch! Roll up your sleeves and tidy up the mess!!

I have seen men dressed as executives (clean shaven and in 3 piece suits) coming for Mincha then staying an extra 15 minutes to clean up and organize the mess to enable us to have a clean shul and to feed those that need it. Shomer Shabbos has been giving food for years so they should stop if Masbiah opens up clearly on the other side of BP (53 & 13 to 14 & 43)???

Dont complain and come on down (yes the basement) and join us all in the great mitzvah of Tefila Btzibur and yes Hachnosas Orchim
