BP has every bank known to man...doesn't exactly help fight the streotypes now does it

 

Owned by a Frum Jew? What do we do regarding ribis? Does the heter iska work on this to make it mutar for customer to accept interest on an account or for him to charge interest on a loan? I need to go re-learn those halochois. It's been years. I never deposited money with a Jewish bank, nor borrowed from a Jewish bank.

i asked my Rav before opening an account in Flatbush. No Heter Iska is needed, as the money is not being lent by the two Frum Jewish owners of the Bank, but by the Corporation. There is no ribis prohibition on a corproration lending money.

I hope they give out Kosher Lamps and good pens like Commerce Bank did, otherwise, who needs them? We need Daffy/Loehmann's/Sym's type discount clothing stores. Boring! Another bank!

 

Maybe we can get some suggestions here on how to make money to put in all the banks?

 

Firstly, there may be many banks on 13th avenue but are any of them good? I heard from many people that LibertyPointe is an excellent bank. Aside from the fact that we should all help Jewish causes, putting your money there will probably help you. A bank owned by Jews definitely needs a heter iska, but there's no worries because they have one.
