Police Moving Violation Trap in Flatbush
There is a daily Police Moving Violation trap in the Mobil station on the corner of Avenue P and Coney Island Avenue. They hide in the Mobil station facing westbound traffic on Avenue P, scanning all the cars for Cell Phone talkers and seatbelt violations. They are usually there in the afternoon hours. At night, they aim their floodlamps into the cars so that they see better. Beware and save yourself a ticket.
Comments:
Be aware of it. Keep yourself and others safe. Buckle up and use a hands-free device if you must shmooze while driving. These traps are set up very often in various parts of the city, particularly near Coney Island Avenue on various avenues.I've seen one officer stand a block before and radio ahead to the officers waiting at the corner. You can avoid so much of the needless hassle by just obeying the law in the first place.
I have almost been run over many times by frum people talking on cell phones while driving and turning corners. It is illegal to talk on a handheld device while driving. It should be illegal to talk on a hands free device as well. Studies have shown that the brain is equally distracted by both types of cell phone devices. Please, stop the chillul hashem and the danger to yourself and others - Don't Talk and drive.
That's right! I got my first ticket here! I was on my cell phone- which was on speaker- not on my ear. I had no idea then that this was against the law. Stupid me. Oh well. At least others will be warned now.
Buckle Up. The second it takes to buckle up is the same second that can get you injured for life if you don't.

Those frum people only they get distracted when talking on a cell phone, Why don't you blame them for the law too, Now they have hands free laws in most states only because the "frum" people can't talk and drive. I feel your pain

Watch out for them on the dead end by Avenue I and 14th. They stand there sometimes too waiting to catch ppl. running the East 14th stop sign.
You shouldn't have posted this. These people need to be pulled over. They're a hazard to the road. Buy a headset. It really doesn't cost that much.

2:31 - It's not the peaker phone that's illegal. Holding it in your hand while driving is. That wouldn't qualify as "hands-free".
Why not post this item?If you havent noticed Bloomberg is anti Car. He will do anything to make you get out of your gas guzzling, polluting car, that includes, heavy parking ticket, moving violation, enforcement to make people go on Mass Transit. This is just one of the Tactics
also beware of no turns 11am-6pm mon-fri on 13th and j. everyone misses it and they wait on j for people to turn.
same is going on evry morning on 19th ave. 52 - 53rd street aprx. 7 am till 11 am and i wish that all of you will pass this on to alot of pepele via text blugs and any way u culd so we put this perticurler officer out of business
Keep driving like you're above the law and you will keep getting hammered by the law! It really isn't that difficult to put on a seatbelt and use a hands free device while driving.
There's another trap at 23 ave (ave M) and 59th street beware of stop sign. beware of stop sign on 19th ave and 50th street, they hide in the dead end, and also at the stop signs on 19th and 52nd.
I also saw a cop sitting on 17th and 53rd looking for cellphone and seatbelt violators.
The ticketing practices in our area are unbearable. In the south Bronx you can ignore alternate side regulation and there's a good chance you wouldn't even be ticketed.
Once while parking near 13th ave on a hot day, i was taking my toddler out of the back seat and then when i turned to feed the meter there was a ticket agent already standing there, gleefully issuing a summons. I felt that there was nothing i could say to her because even after she realized what she had done she finished printing the summons and apathetically handed it to me.

Ok,
Here is a really unique thought for all you brilliant thinkers. The best way to save yourself a ticket, is NOT TO DO ANYTHING THAT IS ILLEGAL. I know, I know, it's difficult to ACTUALLY FOLLOW THE LAW, but try.

hello, your friendly neighborhood police officer here, oh and for all those who cry antisemitism guess what,,im jewish and yeshiva educated.. surprising huh??. If the community at large didnt have such a high car accident rate there would be less need for stricter enforcement, but as stated in other comments posted certain members can't drive and breath at the same time, a cell phone for them is a ticking time bomb. And why should 4 lanes on coney be turned into 1 or 2 lanes by your double parking. Hey, you walk 5-10 blocks on shabbat, why not park somewhere and take a walk as i do on ther days. stop playing the victims, you get tickets because you get caught doing the wrong things!!

There should be more traps in the 19th and 52nd area.I have seen way to many near fatal crashes. People totally skip the stop signs there. There was a request put in many times for a light but that was denied. They did however turn it into a 4 way stop. In general I don't really understand this whole business;what are you trying to do circumvent the law and the cops.I agree there may be excessive ticketing in our community but I can only identify with such complaints in regard to meters etc. Anything that endangers the welfare of others-WELL YOU BELONG THROWN OFF THE ROAD IF YOU DON"T OBEY,BLOOMBERG,GIULIANI OR DINKINS THE IDIOT FOR THAT MATTER.

David 12.33 AM, you are Naive,City & state govt cares more about the REVENUE than the enforcement. any reduction in crashes is a bonus for them. Remember $$$$$$$$$$is the name of the game
