Animal driver goes onto busy sidewalk to avoid school buses

A real jerk of a driver endangered many people by driving onto a busy sidewalk and then entered traffic backwards into a busy intersection in order to avoid school buses that were loading children.

NOTE: License plate in photo was changed in the hopes that this posting is enough to get the driver to change his dangerous driving habits.

Comments:
I believe Chaptzem was wrong to not show the license plates. This was a criminal type of behavior that should be stopped. I do not think he can be prosecuted after the facts based on the photo but it would help shame him.

smart driver! what a chutzpah to close off a whole street because of bais yaakov! every school in Boro Park thinks they can close the streets surrounding their school for use as a playground enough! it takes 20 minutes getting from 9th ave to 20th as is!

The REAL animals are the inconsiderate Bais Yaakov & Yeshiva Bus drivers Who block the streets every few feet to pick up the childeren in front of their houses. The Board oF Ed drivers ( Atlantic Bus)NEVER do that . All children are assigned stops with groups of kids to pick up on CORNERS ONLY-NEVER Crossing the double Yellow Line which is illegal anyway. But this is Boro Park, they make up their own rules.

It's amazing that there are two totally different perspectives here. I agree with anon 9:22 and 9:24 (except I think 9:22 is being a bit harsh..)it's true, what other choice did the driver have? He probably didn't know that the street will be closed off before he parked there.

Chaptzem!! How in the world did you expect this driver to get out of 46th street when the street is closed off??? (and not wanting or having the time to sit around for an hour)all of us what do the same in his/her place

why can't the buses pick up & drop off on the corners. It is rediculous that busses stop at every other house.

smart driver, animal beis yakov heads

The BoE buses pick up older kids that can go a couple of blocks to a bus stop. The "private" buses are picking up preschoolers that cannot be expected to walk 3-4 bloks to a bus stop.

RABBI SHAPIRO owns bybp,46 street, and the whole boro park.
Just don't scratch his 2008 INFINITI

i was once stuck on that block for close to an hour for a fire drill they had, they knew its a drill and planned but didnt bother closing the street for cars to get in, i was stuck there with lots of other cars for close to an hour. b.y. heads are totaly ignorant with accepting kids and living with their neighbors, who ever makes all these plans is selfish and ignorant. chaptzem im sure you wouldnt enjpy burning gas for b.y. even for 25 minutes, you owe an apology to that driver.

Don't be angry with the driver, he's a pushiter yid

all this person had to was backup and not drive on the sidewalk.
Why did no one report this to then NYPD/Shomrim/911?

2:20 PM you cant back up look at the pic there was a bus right behind him and the ones in front of him were probably still empty as usual.

Hey Chaptzem editor,

Calm down!

If you know Boro Park as you claim to, you know that the buses don't load children on or off in that part of the block! They do that in front of the school building; at least 600 to 700 feet away!

With regard to closing the street: do any of you geniuses (like the idiot that has nothing to do but keep track of Rabbi S.'s car) have any suggestions on how to pick up KN"H 2000 plus students?

Choking 13th Ave with double parked buses is obviously not a good idea. The kids are already dismissed and picked up on a staggered schedule, so as to eliminate congestion.

The public school on 47th & 18th (ever get stuck there?) would do the same thing , but they can't because it is a city bus route AND an ambulance route to I. Z. (I don't suppose any of you know what kind of car the "owner"/principal of that school drives, though till this year it was a frum person!)

All in all, BY of BP runs phenominally smoothly for a moisad of its size, and the least any of us can do to help our kinderlach is to avoid the block during certain times.

Exiting the block as our hero in these pictures did, is even sanctioned by cops on the avenue, if done safely.

So let's lighten up and worry about ourselves intead of, in Lipa's words, YENEM.

Kol Tuv,
A Git Yuhr

It's all the fault of Felder. Look at the picture. The driver was distracted by his poster.

gotta love the craziness that goes on there . its what makes boro park borough park

I think the school bus stopping every other house needs to be addressed in a forum of its own. Why do I have to suffer because a mother is not ready when the bus comes cauing myself & all the other drivers behind the bus to have to wait because of that mother. I am not even addressing the issue of the bus making 5 stops on the same block three houses apart from each other!!!

Guys stop being Zombies, Dangerous, hazard, we bacme so mentally retarded since NY became a police city where only police have eyes and ears. the people are zombies. B'H the driver knows how to drive and can see and most like was driving carfully, like when driving upstate in the colony. Stop being zombies, trust yourself and do what's right.

The Hatzallh also drive like animals, yes they are going to save someones life but by endangering othres, mah pshat? The answer is use your brains and your OK. Same here, the guy was in mad rush and needed to get somewhere on time and was carefull.

In my opinion it's gotten out of hand. We should introduce guide line for who can take the bus. Children over a certain age living close to school should walk, it's healthy as well. Don't be so protective. I live 1 block away from my sons school and my wife wont let him walk, dont know why, but it's crazy. The rest should only have corner stops and I mean children over the age of 4.

The schools while saving money on this end or even if not should be required to get parking not in residental areas, it's what's causing resentment between communities and there politicians where people feel that schools have control of the agenda. There is a school on every block amd they all lobby for there own parking space and at the same time take away precious residental living space.

Boro Parkers,

you bring nothing but shame to the Jewish people living in self-constructed ghetto on top of each other like animals. Your driving habits, among other desecrations of G-d's Name, make me want to stay away from your stinking neighborhood as much as possible lest I hear a non-Jews make generalizations about Klal Yisroel based on seeing how you behave. You feel you own the place? Wake up and smell the coffee, it's still very much golus. Start learning some manners.

Why can't everybody walk to school.
In my youth, I had to do two miles each way. (One mile, first to 5th grade).

Avraham you are right but what would you do inthat car????

this driver is the same type of animal that has the chutzpa to beat up an alter yid.. taking pictures .. just doing his job

Farkas and this driver have one thing in commun.. both bahaimes

both have zero respect for others

both care only about themselves

my wife is stuck there right now! She parked before 3:30 and had no idea about the block closing.

i dont understand why you guys are suprised aabout this and trying to find a reason or whatever for this

i think this is kind of normal in brookln especially with family cars

How can anybody call him names, nobody knows what really happened there. so for the future first check the facts then call names

I just dont know why anyone would want to live in brooklyn. Its crowded ,dirty and smelly. These buses blocking off the street is inevitable. Where else are they supposed to go? There is no room.People were not meant to live like sardines like they do in boro park and brooklyn.

you try getting stuck behind all these buses every day, and see what you do

hey
anon 9:11 PM
"I just dont know why anyone would want to live in brooklyn. Its crowded ,dirty and smelly"

there are 8 million people living
in this "crowded ,dirty and smelly"
nyc . it not just boro park

i have one thing to say boro park sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't trade living in Boro Park for all the money in the world! For all you people who hate our 'stinkin' neighborhood, Don't come!
Ahhh, but there's your problem! You just can't stay away! Best shopping, a minyan available all hours, a kol Torah in Batei midrashim all over, great, cheap food to go. Some places even bring it straight to your car.
You just can't stand that people WANT to come to Boro Park and not the pathetic little hole you live in.
On every block, on every street, there are more people who want to do good and be involved in Chesed than any other place in the USA. Look at the Chesed lists, people have run out of traditional chesed projects and think up unusual ones just to help another person.
Traffic's bad? That's the price you pay to be in a neighborhood where there are more yiddishe children sitting and learning than at any time and anywhere in our long history.
Even in the alte heim there were never the numbers like now, BA"H. A little traffic? Learn the school schedules and stay away. I wouldn't change a thing about Boro Park!

I, for one know better than all of you about the craziness and traffic problems in boro park. Try running a Bus company in Boro park. enough said. And as far as the mothers who DEMAND that the bus stop at their door step, every 10 feet GET A LIFE. youre spoiled beyond belief. The little darlings can walk up and down the block to their friends all day long, why cant they walk 10 more to your door? so as opposed to stopping every 10 feet on each block, the bus will stop 2 or 3 times in the block(depending of course that they can enter the block, firetrucks, oil trucks, ambulance etc, etc,)instead of stopping every 10 feet. P.S. the driving habits of a LOT of Boro Park residents still stinks.it is as mentioned before,a chilul hashem.

P.S. Everyone loves Felder, because Felder loves QIUNN. What pair! a match made in heaven. P.S.S. Rabbi Shapiros car is nit a 2008 its a 2007. you am haa'retz
