$5,000 REWARD!

Sign hung on 53rd Street and 17th Avenue in Boro-Park.

Comments:
It is very possible there is Important Data that is worth a lot more then $5000.00

Seems my tax info may be showing up on Google any day now...

psst. how much does your 1040 show?

Or... maybe he has more than "taxes" on there.. hmmm, wonder what sort of pictures he doesn't want his wifey poo to see?

not a very smart accountant

hello!!!!!!!! for 5 grand he can get like 3 new computers!!!!!!!!

Wasn't it just a short while ago that there were postings here about the FBI seizing computers pursuant to a search warrant?

Think this through.

Whoever finds the computer can copy all the data, and still get 5 grand returning it to him.

All he's done is alert a thief that there's valuable data on there. Had he not done this, the thief probably would have erased the hard drive and sold it to some random teen who would not care less about anything on it, or sold it as is to someone who might be a (relatively) honest person and not used the info for personal gain.

Now, however...

That's why its important to encrypt confidential information stored on your computer.

He should look for it on Craigs list.

Very possible that there are passwords to get into his private info. I have a laptop with very valuable info, everything has passwords that cannot be bypassed.

If you are referring to Windows passwords, they can easily be broken. It's a joke.
