I to have am a former mispallel of rabbi katz's shul. I have since moved to flatbush. it is frustrating to have heard so many wonderful shiurim from rabbi katz, be they in taharas hamishpacah and in shalom bayis, only to now see that he refuses to practice what he preaches.In addition, on this past shabbos hagadol, his "drasha" was about his own personal agenda and his fighting. His brother Yossi, and his brother in law Avery, are people that are jealous of others, and need recognition. i watched as Yossi stayed away from the shul for years, because he was obviuosly slighted about kavod. now that there is a fight, suddenly he came back into the family fold. to quote aba eben, the former israeli prime minister when discussing the arabs, " The arabs never miss an opportunity to misss an opportunity". that is exactly what these brothers togethjre with thheir "rabbi" are doing. blowing an opportunity.

I am someone who used to daven in R'katz shul. I since moved to another part of brooklyn. I am appaled to what has happened with R'katz. He used to have a close relationship with his brother Chanina who has helped the shul financially as well as give positive energy to the shul and it's congregants. He went to another shul to daven with his Father at the 16th avenue agudah for he felt this is a great mitzvah.
R'katz trying to link himself now to Yossi and Avery is bazarre, they have only been trouble for him.
He should stop this, especially in pulic, for a rav this a disgrace. The shul knows he is behind this and does not know how to react.

We hope he practices what he speaks.

i guess you heard wrong mr. blogger. i go to rav labels yeshiva and no it was NOT mandatory.( by the way when you write 20 boys, its not the quantity of the boys its the quality, i guess you werent zocheh to be part of us) if i was there its because i wanted to be there. mr. blogger who thinks that all rav label said was I you must be hearing impaired or something.

Reading the falseness on both sides, the distorted verbage, wrong ideas, it shocking that any frum jew comment on such a site about such people. Mi keamcha yisroel. We dont have much time in this world: max 120 years to accomplish, to succeed & grow in ruchnius. Let's all focus on our relationship between us & hakodush baruch hu. Let'l all learn a lesson about sincere frumkeit & priorities, the importance of conveying the beauty of yiddishkeit, the essential aspect of family values, the target goal of being mekadesh shem shemayim. i am a person who has direct knowledge of the katz dispute and i have no allegiance to either side whatsoever. the only fact that is known for sure and is clear as day is that "LIBEL" KATZ is a worthless money grubbing pig who has no regard for anyone or anything but the almighty dollar

 

THE last poster could not have said any better label katz is all about the money . he has had numerous buildings for his so called yeshivas and sold them! he has had fights over his land in the cementery which he owns! he owns a 2 million dollar house in bp. and is always counting his money and everyone elses. he is worth about 10 million dollars and hes fighting over pennies! hashem yerachem.the yetzer hora obviously is something he cant overcome!

 

what everyone really wants to know is what is this fight about? what could have possably torn this family apart? although everyones gut reaction is to think it is about money. it wouldn't make any sence that rav label would start all this for money. since it is well known that his father didn't have any besides for his house which he owned in boro park, it is also common knowledge by now that his will divides his estate evenly amongst his ten children. so why don't you rav label or which ever one of your kids is filling up this blog with stupid comments about ur brothers. just come out and say why you started this fight!

HE GETS UP AND SPEAKS FOR 400 PEOPLE IN SHALOM BAIS WHY DOES HE NOT MAKE SHALOM IN HIS OWN FAMILY, PLEASE EVERYONE FORGET ABOUNT THE MONEY HIS FATHER LEFT. ITS A HOUSE ON 51 ST WHICH IS WORTH AROUND 1.2 MILLION AND AROUND 200,000.00 IN CASH TOTAL 1.4 MILLION DIVIDED BY 10 IS AROUND 140,000.00 FOR EACH CHILD.RAV LABEL IS A VERY GREETY PERSON I KNOW IT. He lives with his Shver, but yes, he IS greedy. Atleast he stayed in peace with the Wife, Shver and Shvigger and chose to fight with everyone else. Let's be Melamed the One Z'chus we know of!

 

I came upon this site and I am mortified by all the evil gossip. It is a TREMENDOUS SIN to talk about other people. Before you go rationalizing this evil behavior by making up excuses that this is permissible for whatever irrational thoughts go ask a Gadol (not a reform one!)about the situation/gossip you feel the urgent necessity to shout out to the world. Lashon Hara is an evil sin that causes Hashem not to answer our prayers. In addition, after you are Niftar(got to be blunt and honest because you will get there at some point or another) you will have many evil speaking malachim talk about you at your court case. These are the Malachim created by your Lashon Hara. I am not interested in the controversial (as is noted on this site) family private problem. This is not Hollywood where everyones family Tzaros get publicly displayed. In the merit of observing the Halochos of Shemiras Halashom, may Hashem answer of cries and prayers and bring the Geulah Shelama Beyameinu.

I don't have a dog in this fight and am barely religious anymore. But I will say this: Back in 1986, when I got married, I attended RLK's Class for Chassonim. He told us to give him our wedding ma'aser money, which I dutifully did -- especially after he said that he'll always be there if we have any problems.

When big problems came up and the marriage was on the rocks, I gave him a call. He said he'd try to squeeze me for a few minutes in as he had to go to the country. That was bad enough. But I still recall, clearly, his palatial home and his condescending manner. And in the end, he made things much worse.

Sad but true.

 

7/28/09 - I have been in RLK's home one time. His "palace" is one floor in a three-family house. Your standards for living quarters must not be very high. In addition, RLK is always home for shabbos. I find it hard to believe you could not find an opportunity to meet with him. How accessible were you?
